The Semblance of Bliss
“I know you’re upset, but it’s not like it’s the end of the world. You just woke up from five years of comatose, you should explore the world more—”
“But I want him, Ruqa.” Shaine’s lips wobbled and she looked down. “You very know that. I’ve been wanting him for so many years now.”
Ruqa was stupefied for a moment. She bit her lip, then she sighed. “Do you... want to meet him again?”
“Of course,” Shaine whispered.
Ruqa sighed again. Shaine had just woken up, yet he’s thinking about some guy who might not even remembered her. Still, she still couldn’t resist those pleading eyes of Shaine, and the guilt creeping inside her. It was partly my fault too.
“Okay,” she said. “I’ll help you.”
