He huffed and ruffled his blond hair with one of his hands. I laid a hand on his shoulder and sat down on the icy cold rock he was also sitting on.
“I came back ahead of the rest.” He finally replied with an unsteady voice.
“Rhett, what’s going on, where’s Ria?” I was worried for a couple of reasons. One, Rhett never left Ria. Two, he seemed unsettled, which was not like him. And three, if there had been a problem, I would have thought he would have called me. See, because he had no counterpart (animal spirit), he couldn’t mind link like shifters, so we relied on phones as a form of communication.
