The door went open, and I snapped out of my reverie, turning around to see Rhett walk into the room. He's dressed in a white shirt with sleeves rolled up to his elbow and a tie hanging loosely around his neck, his blazer jacket in his hand. His hair had fallen over his face, making it obvious he had visited the restroom multiple times today to wet his face. He was exhausted. I could see that.
"Hey," I greeted first with a smile, and he walked over, tossing the jacket onto the bed. He knelt on one knee, holding a black gift box I hadn't noticed earlier. I watched him open it to reveal a diamond necklace with a butterfly pendant.
