Rhys wanted to argue, wanted to insist that Phoenix was wrong, that his caution had nothing to do with fear and everything to do with practical assessment of the situation. But before he could formulate a response, R called out from across the room. "Papa! I found a book about ladies! It's called 'Pride and Prejudice.' Is this about the lady who makes you weird?" Eyes sharp and amused. Amara was almost pressed between him and the book rack, heart in her mouth and legs clenching. She knew he was doing it on purpose. “You like fantasy, more like magic and knights.” He pulled out one book, a thick book with a light brown cover with images of a knight and a woman. He tilted his head. “Never grasped what’s so good about this one though.”
