His jaw tightened. “Who are you?” The hunter finally looked toward him. “My name is Cassian.” The name meant nothing to me. But it clearly meant something to Lyra. Her face lost color immediately. “You,” she whispered. Cassian smiled without warmth. “Still alive, Lyra? That’s disappointing.” The giant creature near us snarled violently. The hunters behind Cassian immediately raised silver weapons.

I blinked rapidly, forcing my blurry vision to clear so i could see them properly but the sting only grew more intense with each passing second. But I could see them freeze. I wasn't sure how long the kiss lasted but I really wished they would take these chains off me first.
