"And we see what they want." The two of them moved forward, sticking to the trees and keeping their distance from the group of rebels. As they neared a clearing, Lia spotted them—a group of wolves, their faces weathered and scarred, their eyes sharp with suspicion. They weren’t purebloods. They were Greykin, like her. One of them stepped forward, a woman with silver hair and a black cloak that blended seamlessly into the shadows. Her eyes, like Cassian’s, glowed with a fierce intensity, and she immediately assessed them, her gaze flicking from Lia to Cassian.

Thump. Thump. From the dark woods, a giant wave of white horses and black wolves possessed my black magic ran toward the castle. But these were not normal animals. The horses had red eyes, and the men riding them were vampires. They wore silver armor that reflected the fire and behind them, thousands of mindless ghouls ran on all fours, screaming like hungry animals. "Hold the line!" Zayn’s voice boomed. It was so loud it sounded like thunder. He stood at the very front of the gate. He didn't hide behind his men.

“Make note of these names. Sephyr and Danica. Find out everything about them.” Osric bows and leaves the room. “But why did he take you?” Raphael asks. I tell Raphael what Stephan believed, leaving out the parts that would reveal my powers to the King, who listens closely. “The motive makes sense,” the King says. “But that boy, Grimm, is still dangerous. He is a descendant of the Raven Wolf King. His powers are not something we can ignore.” I shake my head. “Grimm is good. His power is hard for him to control, but every time he used it, it was to help. He didn’t just save your life, sire, he saved me, and he helped Raphael stop Stephan.”

Behind a large rock, I saw the man who raised his dagger and was about to stab Coriselle in the body. "Stop it!" I yelled out. The person looked back at me, and I realized it was actually Mireya. She ignored me and stabbed down hard into Coriselle's heart. I lunged and tackled Coriselle to the ground before she could stab her in the heart. "You're a blood race? I can't believe you look just like that human!" Mireya stared at me angrily. "It's not that I look like that human, it's because, I'm Grace!"

Great, she was just as sick as her brother. "What kind of creature was Grim?" I asked. "He could change his form into the strangest things. And he could disappear, I know it." "He was cursed," she says simply. "he was born a Werewolf and he died as a curse." I didn't like how this conversation was leading back to his death. But if I wanted answers, I had to expect this. "How did you find me?" I asked. I needed to know. If they could, I wondered the others who could find me. "And have you told people about me?"

--- Witches Coven "You are the only hope to end this war—the sole means by which the pack leaders might be compelled to surrender," Vargr said, his voice low as he addressed Lord Grimholt, once a loyal servant to the royal family. The man had borne witness to the kingdom’s downfall, surviving the massacre that claimed the royal family and king's adviser. The pack leaders believed him long dead, yet he alone had escaped. “I answered your summons,” Lord Grimholt replied, his tone heavy with disappointment, “because I believed you had at last chosen to reveal yourself—to right the wrongs done to our kin. But I see now, you still keep your other gift hidden.”

"I love watching trash like you squirm." He snatched the tongs from Johnny and drove them toward my mouth. I clamped my jaw shut on instinct, but the tip caught the corner of my mouth and tore it open. The taste of blood spread across my tongue. That seemed to delight him even more. "Pry his mouth open. Anyone who helps me out tonight gets a car. One each." The groomsmen needed no further convincing. They crowded around me, wrenching at my jaw. "You had the nerve to cross Danny? You've got a death wish."

I chuckled darkly, a cold, hungry expression settling on my face along with a predatory glint in my eye I never knew I was capable of. “Madness,” Layla refuted without hesitation. “Absolute madness! What happens when your mother finds out you stole her grimoire? She will kill you long before the magic does.” "What can a woman locked in a room, bedridden and withering away, possibly do to me?" I scoffed. "Have you forgotten why she is that way?" Layla pressed, her voice brimming with reproach. "Is this not the exact same magic that destroyed her? Haven't you watched her fade like ashes with your own eyes?"

Her breath caught instantly. An enormous black castle stood beneath the stormy sky, towering over the mountains like something built by nightmares themselves.Dark silver flames burned along the walls,Huge wolf statues guarded the entrance and above everything flew the royal banner of the Lycan kingdom. I tried to turn and walk away, but Bryce latched onto my leg. A sharp shout split the air. Camille stormed forward, the flowers she'd been carrying scattering across the ground, and pulled Bryce close. She stared at me with open disappointment, her lips trembling with barely contained fury. "I came here to apologize to you, and this is what I walk into? You tormenting him?" Bryce's face flushed red. He turned to me, his voice small and pleading. "Miles, I'm begging you. Please just give it back. It was my mother's. It's all I have."
