~Dawn The riddle made no sense as I read it in my mind. Untouchable as unseen, a ghost of something you'll never be. See him once, never twice, and witness something as cold as ice. Trust someone just as bad, you don't want to make him mad. "Is this a warning?" I question. I couldn't see any other explanation for this strange riddle which I had no answer to. Kaden stays silent for awhile longer before he spoke again, letting me process what was on the note. "I want your answer by midnight. Someone will come for it. If you fail to answer the riddle, they will die. If you answer it correctly, they live."

“Nothing.” Adrian walked toward the window. “What else?” Daniel hesitated. “I found something in the old records.” “What?” “A transfer note.” Adrian frowned. “Transfer?” “Yes.” “From the maternity unit?” “Yes.” “Where was the child transferred?” “That's the problem.” Daniel paused. “The destination was removed.” Silence. Adrian's grip tightened around the phone. “Can you recover it?” “I'm trying.” “Do it.” “I will.” Daniel hesitated again.

She felt her pulse jump. “How long?” Gabriel checked his watch. “Fifteen minutes.” Vittorio stepped forward. “Everyone needs to leave.” Zara looked at him. “Why?” “Because the transfer will happen at midnight.” “I know.” “No,” Vittorio said. “You don’t.” He pointed toward the altar. “The trust doesn’t simply transfer ownership.” Zara’s brow furrowed. “What does it do?” “The trust releases the records.” Silence. Rafael looked at Vittorio.

TRANSFER COMPLETE. One after another, the notifications filled the screen. Mara's face went pale. “It isn't stopping.” Daniel stepped closer. “Show me.” She turned the laptop around. The Covenant's assets were being transferred through hundreds of accounts. Banks. Trusts. Property companies. Investment funds. Private foundations. The entire financial structure was moving. But there was no destination account. No corporation. No individual. Only a string of encrypted identifiers. Daniel stared. “That's impossible.” Elena looked at him.

She couldn’t help but smile as she watched May dancing in front of the 63 inch tv on the shelf.
