But The Burn turns a Dragon fire against them, making them burn from the inside out. The only way to avoid succumbing to the plague is to not shift, essentially denying us the right to be ourselves. It's easier for adult dragons to fight the urge to shift, but it's way harder for dragons in transition.

But this was not fire that burned, it was purifying flame, cleansing the dragon blood from their bodies. Screams echoed, but slowly changed into sacred chants. The red sky began to fade, turning to orange. The dragon troops collapsed one by one, turning into glowing ash that drifted upward into the sky like falling stars.
