STORM. Phoenix fire was unlike any other flame. It did not feed on oxygen or fuel. It fed on emotions. More specifically, it fed on pain. And pain? Pain had teeth. Had a voice that knew your name. It could lock a person in place like rusted iron driven through bone. Stole air from their lungs. Pain convinced them they would never be whole again, that the shattered pieces of who they'd been could never be reassembled into anything worth saving.

And one piece of advice, add a little more meat. Coz on that special night, you’re gonna be thankful you had it. See ya sometime.”

She is something special. Turns out River was a rebel, loved speed, and sports. She is a hard core Texan fan and loves watching the Houston Rockets, never missing a game. Apparently, she played basketball since middle school, as a point guard, and was good at it. What surprised me the most was when she spoke about River and her bike. She told me how she traded her old bike for a faster one that she got at the age of 16. River loves her bike so much that she named her Raven because she is matte black. Well, no wonder she gave me that name. She also told me that where she is from they’re big on riding dirt bikes and off-road vehicles called buggies.

Chapter 12 As Phoenix stood in the shower, watching the blood and chunks go down the drain, she wasn’t injured but felt a significant loss. She only killed in battle, in self-defense. Even the missions she was sent on, these were bad people who had killed the young, had used them for sexual trafficking and abused them beyond belief. It still made her sick to her stomach, but she always remembered what she learned from the Phantom woods about her temper. She practiced keeping her temper in check because she never knew what could happen if she truly lost it.

Nature vs nurture and all that. So I broke the attic window, and climbed down the pipes. Then my brain yearned to be in water. Unfortunately, the only way to get to Flower Moon river was to cross the Unclaimed Forest. So I did what I had to do. Who would be in the forest at three in the morning? Right, Werewolves—because like I mentioned it was a full moon.
