Mavericks POV Valerie is such an idiot… I can’t believe she called me an idiot when in fact, she is the bigger fool here. For fucks sake we’ve spoken about it severally, I told her to stay away from those bastards because they are dangerous. Yet the first time they tried to pull another trick on her, she totally fell for it. Valerie was going to try to save that idiot, she believed his stupid lies and if Shane had not shown up, she would have followed him downstairs to try and save his sorry ass from the witch he spoke about.

Valerie nodded her head as she took the tray and walked outside the room with her. Her head was pounding as she walked through the corridor and went inside her previous room. Valerie placed the tray on the table and she dig in as her stomach was growling. "Let me grab some dresses for you so you can take a bath" Valerie said while standing up from the couch and walked outside . She came back in the room within few minutes with a handful of different gowns and hanged them in the cupboard in the restroom.

It all felt like a distant memory now. I sighed, feeling down. I knew I had to move on, for Riele's sake, for Rohan's sake, but it was hard. Valerie was more than just a friend; she was a fellow wolf, a sister. I stood up, deciding to take a walk outside. Maybe some fresh air would do me good. But as I walked, I couldn't shake off the feeling of loss. Valerie was gone, and nothing would ever be the same again. As I was about to leave, Riele walked into the room, looking curious. "Dad, where are you going?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with interest.

Pulling her collar tighter against the cold, she heard her parents breathe a sigh of relief on the other end. "Val," her father began, his voice heavy with age. “Your mom and I haven’t been in good health these past few years. So now that you’ve made up your mind, that’s good. When you’re back, I’ll have your Aunt Laura arrange a few suitable candidates for you to meet." Hearing that her parents were already making arrangements for her future, Valerie’s gaze flickered, her emotions momentarily unsettled. After a few more words of small talk, she ended the call.

The story was like a movie to us, I just couldn't believe Kamsy would ever, I exchanged glances with Valerie. "What.. What of the baby? Do you have any information?". Valerie asked, swimming in tears, she was emotional about losing her first love and friend but I felt nothing. In fact I wished they died more painfully. "Well sadly she killed her baby before going for the father, I am happy everything went well, God fought for you Val. You are a kind hearted lady and I am lucky to know you in person". Valerie smiled and dried her eyes. "Thanks Daniel".

Valerie sat in her living room, a subtle unease lingering in her thoughts. She couldn't shake the feeling that Ares was unknowingly held back by the weight of his past relationships and the presence of herself and the kids. Determined to bring a fresh breeze into his life, she began pondering potential matches and two people came to mind- Tina and Sarah. Determined, Valerie reached for her phone and dialed Sarah's number. "Hey Sarah, it's Valerie. Long time no talk! How about dinner tomorrow? I want to ease myself of stress, and I'd love your company," she proposed.

“I said leave, Valeria.” She held his gaze for a moment, then sighed dramatically. “Fine, I will see you at a more convenient time.” She turned to me, her eyes glinting with something unreadable. “I’d be careful if I were you, kid. River has a way of making people feel special, only to ruin them in the end.” I swallowed hard, but I didn’t let her see the effect her words had on me. She finally strutted out, slamming the door behind her.

I hadn’t noticed the hundreds of tiny faces staring at the camera at that time. Still, I tried to ask if she liked it or not. “Do you like it then?” Valerie laughed even harder. “Like? she said, holding her stomach. “This is the funniest surprise ever, Raven.” She opened the car door and stepped out. The sound of her laughter was more enjoyable than the chirping of birds and the soft rustling of leaves outside. I sighed and stepped out as well, trying to look casual, but inside I felt both embarrassed and weirdly happy to hear her laugh like that.

KADE'S POV I had been so fixated on outside enemies that I never saw the threat right in front of me. The woman whom I’d shrugged off as harmless. The rejected bride, who had looked more relieved than angry when Raven took her place. Valerie. "Boss, what's wrong?" Javier picked up on the first ring, already alarmed. "Valerie just threatened Raven's friends. Demands that the antidote be transported to the old docks at midnight. Says she’s going to kill them if Raven don’t go alone.” I walked the room and was half-way to scenarios and countermeasures already.

“Chelsea knows she’s not my favorite, don't worry about her.” “Yes, Val and I have met. I’ve seen her around. Hello, Val.” Meredith said and gave Valkyrie a curt but somewhat polite smile. Val was wearing a white midi dress with see-through lace panels going down her front and back and around her waist making it rather difficult to wear a bra without someone seeing and Meredith didn’t see one.
