Chloe didn’t wait. Neither did I. And surprisingly, it was good. Better than I expected. I glanced up at him while eating. “You didn’t have to do this.” He shrugged. “You looked like you needed it.” I paused slightly at that. Then continued eating. Chloe, of course, couldn’t resist. “So,” she said between bites, “is this what rich people do? Just randomly become chefs in their spare time?” Liam smirked faintly. “Something like that.”

When she looked up, Liam was grinning at her in that way he always did when he was proud but pretending to tease. “What?” she asked with a raised brow. “You,” he said simply, leaning back with his wine glass. “The way you answered that call—so firm, so calm. You sounded every bit the boss. My Chelsea, the head chef.” Chelsea flushed, laughing softly. “Stop it. I’m still getting used to all of this.” “No, don’t stop,” Liam countered. “Own it. I don’t even go to many parties or clubs, although I’m guessing I’ll need to work on that when I’m at college otherwise I could end up studying all the time, which won’t be too healthy for me.
