“ Plus it helps a lot when the shadows are whispering the direction.” Everyone chuckled from amusement. Cassia did notice that everything that the seer was describing was indeed what she saw and smelt. The rocks on the walls and floor were covered with a gross slimy looking moisture. You could hear water dripping from somewhere but the echo made it hard to pinpoint the exact location. The ceiling did vault upwards while walking down the stairs. Soon they came to a set of old double doors at the end of the hallway. They were made of heavy vertical planks of wood held together by thick metal plates. The hinges were large barrel and pin that began to build up mineral deposits. A large lock and

“Axel, what are we going to do?” “These doors are bulletproof.” I'd thought the space was open between the living quarters and the bedroom, but now I could see there were doors hidden in the walls. He pushed his palm into the molding, and the doors popped out so they could slide closed. “Shut the doors and lock yourself on the inside.”

The next morning, when I went to their hotel to say goodbye before going back to the Manor, Hugo gave me a small wooden crate wrapped in a delicate white cloth. “If push comes to shove, and your Kujo can’t keep them at bay, you will need to seal the access doors to the building.” “Only the doors? Cause those buildings have a zillion windows, too. Not to mention half the roof is gone.” “Only the doors to access it from the outside, including those tunnels you told me about. You’ll find all you need to do it in this box, along with the specific prayer to achieve it.” He winked at me, smiling. “No dark entity will dare to mess with the kind of light you would summon.” He left the crate in my ha

The chamber was divided into several rooms, each with its unique energy. Emberlynn could count ten doors in total; that was ten rooms in total as well, and she wondered what lay in those rooms. A room particularly caught her attention. It was at the center, and on the door with the bold, block-lettered sign was written, DO NOT ENTER." The door was made of thick, dark wood, and it seemed to radiate an aura of power and mystery. The more she gazed at the door, the more it pulled her in.

Blaine admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. I limped over to one of the chairs and sat. “What would you do if one of the kids wandered here one day? I asked idly. He winced at the thought. “That’s why both this door and the outer one are reinforced steel, and fingerprint and password protected. If they somehow managed to get through the first door, all they would see is their cousin’s fun man cave.” He spread his hands to indicate the whole room. “They’ll be too dazzled to look at anything else.”

The brutalist concrete structure was overgrown with ivy, and the massive steel doors of the main garage were rusted at the hinges. Dax killed the engine, and the silence of the mountains rushed in to fill the void. He dismounted, his boots crunching on the dry needles of the pines that had reclaimed the driveway. "Home sweet home," he muttered, though his hand remained near the heavy iron wrench tucked into his belt. The instinct for danger didn't vanish just because the network did. I walked to the keypad beside the door. It was an ancient, mechanical unit no biometrics, no neural links. I punched in the code from the trust documents. With a heavy, metallic thunk, the deadbolts retracted, a

I followed Claire down the central corridor, past a glass-walled conference room where three people sat around a table covered in documents, past a row of closed doors with no nameplates, past a wall of windows that looked out over the city at an angle that made everything below look small and very far away. I had read about this building. I had studied this man's professional history across fourteen pages of notes written at two in the morning. But walking through the space where he actually operated was different. Everything up here had been chosen. Every surface, every place, every degree of silence. At the end of the corridor Claire stopped in front of a door that looked identical to eve

"They will insist on playing loud music and games during the height of the zombie outbreak! And they won't stop even when you tell them to!" "They're also going to eat up all of your rations and then eat your pets too!" "Don't you ever open that door! It's your last line of defense against them!" The knocking on the other side of the door continued, and my vision somehow felt like it had just been attacked by a virus with how the live comments kept popping up non-stop. Yet, all of them warned me not to open the door at all costs. I carefully withdrew my hand, feeling my heart thumping loudly in my chest.

A giant door appeared, right in the middle of the white page—made from the same dark wood as the book. “The real Gabe is behind that door,” June realized. But before they could reach it, Ink-Gabe pulled all the melting ink into himself. He became a towering wave of black liquid, twenty feet high. “You can’t enter the Void!” the wave bellowed. “If you open that door, the story ends! The world will be unwritten!” “Then we’ll write it ourselves!” June yelled. She grabbed the door’s handle—it was freezing, stealing the warmth from her skin. She felt her hand stick to the wood.

"Zombies are coming. Smash it! There are all kinds of food behind this door. You can keep whatever you get!" When those who came with him heard this, their eyes lit up, and they raised their steel pipes to charge forward. However, the titanium alloy door, which had been systemically modified, did not budge at all. Not even a single layer of paint was peeled off. Instead, Uncle Adam exerted too much force and injured his palm, groaning in pain. The zombies behind him had already appeared at the street corner and were less than 100 yards away from them. Uncle Adam sweated profusely from anxiety. Suddenly, he looked up at the window on the second floor of the supermarket. It was not closed.
