As they rounded a corner, a deafening roar split the air. Aria skidded to a halt, her blood running cold. A massive creature loomed ahead, its body an unholy fusion of shadow and flame. Its eyes glowed with a malevolent intelligence, and its jagged claws tore through the ground as it advanced.
“What is that?” Aria demanded, gripping her sword tightly.
“A harbinger,” the rogue leader said, her voice grim. “One of the first things to come through the rift. There’ll be more if we don’t hurry.”
