Remy eased toward me. He looked darker from the sun, his shirt long gone, and almost like someone out of The Lord of the Flies. Only older and more demi-god like holding a large rock.

He was a menace there too, causing troubles all the time and about a year ago, the alpha finally expelled him, turning him into a rogue. There has been little information regarding what he did after that before he popped back into radar a few weeks ago, where a few people spotted him in neutral territory near our pack," Edward reported, making Claire frown. A rogue had the audacity to enter the pack territory and do something this daring? That was fishy!

She growled, and I narrowed my eyes at her, mouthing back at me. “Watch your tone; it was just a question,” I growled, and Styx patted Remy’s thigh. “Your mom has every right to ask me. I wasn't a good person before I met you,” he said firmly and looked over at me. “No, I don't believe that they're mine. My rogues are now part of a pack, so there's no reason for them to cause issues,” he clarified. “Thank you, Styx, that was the answer I needed,” I asserted and glared at my daughter who had lowered her eyes from mine.

Neither of them knew when his anger had melted away, but it was no longer there. His manner with her was like the manner of a teacher and his student. ‘’The rogue has many who depend on the success of his mission. He is afraid that he should fail them, and no, he is not afraid to face any for in battle, so there! He is both frightened and not frightened.’’

“We have an alibi, witnesses to that, and nothing to gain from such destruction.” My voice was so low, so deadly—my eyes so fierce, so unyielding, that Marcus actually balked. It was brief and slight, but it was there. He took a step back. I stood taller. Every inch upward made my burned skin pull, but I didn’t flinch. “Tyler Rogers is my mate,” I said as if announcing it to an audience. “Yes, I am a rogue. But we have already sealed our bond. And there’s nothing anyone can do to break that.”

I could sabotage her plans to leave, or maybe even convince the council to change their minds. But as the hours ticked by, I began to feel a sense of restlessness. I know who your father is,” He rose from the sofa slowly. “You're from the Crescent Pack.” I didn't utter a word, he did the same, staring blankly at me waiting for a reply. A lump formed in my throat as memories I had buried resurfaced about my family and the last time I ever saw them. “Crescent Pack is no more,” I whispered. I tilted my head back fighting the stings in my eyes, blinking them rapidly. “My family was killed, I got lucky and survived as a rogue until I met Ragnar.”
