Rogue Trader Daemon Blade Novels & Stories

“You have to listen—Rafe’s not giving you a choice. He’s already bought half of them. He’s—” Blade lunged, shoving his knife under Gage’s throat before he could finish. “Bought you too, didn’t he?” His voice was a growl, low and lethal. “How much is brotherhood worth, huh? A stack of cash? A promise you’ll never have to bleed again?” Gage’s Adam’s apple bobbed against the blade. “It wasn’t like that.” “Then what was it?” I barked. My voice carried, slicing through the engines, demanding an answer.

A blade forged from bones recreated itself in his palm, and Rogue held it with a fierce grip. His eyes withdrew into their eye sockets as he witnessed his father usher his hand towards him. Rogue nodded and pushed his right leg forward, the left leg back maintaining a space in between his feet, he bent his legs slightly and as soon as he did that, Rogue propelled himself at Ein and swung his blade in a downward arc aiming to split Ein from the shoulder downward.

"What do you need?" Darian was silent for a long moment. Then he said, "I need to know that you're not going to abandon us. That when the fighting starts, you'll be there. That you won't let them burn everything we've built." Kael held his gaze. "I won't." "How can I be sure?" Kael reached into his cloak and pulled out a small blade. It was simple, unadorned. But it carried meaning. "This blade was given to me by someone who trusted me. It's not a weapon. It's a promise." He held it out. "Take it. As a symbol of my word."

I put what I am doing to the side and gestured for him to take a seat. "Owen, I need to talk to you about something. I do not want you to take offense, but it's about rogues." I nod. Rogues often give packs trouble; somehow, I am an exception. Probably because I attempt to communicate with the wolf packs and live on neutral territory, it probably also helps that they come to my club. "I am not sure what help I can be," I don't associate with many wolves, other than those who work or are members of the club.
