Romance Novels Reading Novels & Stories

I busy myself by reading the latest, number one best-selling romance novel I downloaded from Amazon for the trip. I don't normally read for entertainment. I read for work, for research, or for news. I thought this would make for good vacation reading. It was overwhelming, trying to choose the perfect book. I was not looking for sappy fantasy relationships where the world seems perfect. I chose a rough guy, a spunky woman, and a relationship of opposites full of turmoil. I am five chapters in as we land in Kansas City.

My eyebrows shot up and as my gaze drifted to the shelves lining her side of the room, my jaw nearly dropped. If I thought the cover of that one was five percent sexual, then the rest were hundred. Books were everywhere, stacked, lined up neatly, or scattered in small piles. Most of them had similar covers, all romance novels with titles that made me blink twice. “You’ve got a collection,” I said, half-impressed and half-shocked. Her cheeks turned crimson, the blush creeping all the way to her ears. She looked like she wanted the floor to swallow her whole.

"You don't strike me as the romance type." I looked at her intently. "Is it one of those raunchy books with shirtless men carrying scabbards on the cover."

I sucked in my breath just by the mention of the book. I never read dark romance novels, it always grosses me out, the male lead is a pure shitty devil while female lead is always a pure kind hearted angel. What differentiates us is that I was not born or turned, I'm good with sunlight and I could stay long without thirst for blood.
