The maids in the previous castle were helpful towards and that is the reason why I could learn to read. Currently, I was reading a novel, and from what Cassandra had told me--It was a romance novel. I still was new learning about it, but all I knew about was that a hug and a kiss on the forehead were a sign of intimacy. I couldn't understand much, but in the books, it stated that sensing that bubbling feeling in the abdomen and the warmth in the chest was something related to a close connection between two people. I mutter, getting back to reading. " I have every right to be, I've got you." He says, pulling me closer. He lays on his side, resting his head on his propped up arm, looking at me. My face has long heated because of his words and I find myself looking at him. He steals a kiss then, making me to playfully roll my eyes. " So, lets read." My brows shoot up in surprise. "You are willing to listen to me read a romance novel to you, can you even bear to hear a whole chapter?"

She picked it up and opened it. It was a romance story. The kind with soft words and long looks and people falling in love even when the world was hard. Liera sat on the edge of the bed and started reading. She smiled at some of the lines. She did not hear Ryke wake up. Strong arms suddenly wrapped around her from behind. Warm lips touched the side of her neck. “What are you reading?” Ryke asked. His voice was rough from sleep. Liera turned the book so he could see the cover.

Was it from a novel Paige had read before? "What? Do you also think I'm right?" Chris asked with a smile. Paige refuted, "You should read fewer messy novels." Who would have thought that someone like Chris, a CEO, actually liked reading all sorts of romance novels? Did he ever imagine himself in those novels, fantasizing about being the male lead? Chris said, "I don't read any messy novels. I read the painstaking works of the authors." Paige was at a loss for words. Did she also not read the authors' painstaking works? Such double standards.

It felt like a once-in-a lifetime opportunity. “You’re welcome. If you need more books, you can also tell me. I’ll get them for you, so you don’t have to bother asking Liam or anybody else. And if you need a reading partner, I’m always available, even though it’s romance.” Dante grumbled like a child, averting his gaze from me to the book in his hand and pretending to be so engrossed by the synopsis at the back. “But you don’t read romance novels.” I tilted my head to the side, surprised at his behaviour. This was the first time I had seen him act like this.

With a deep breath, I turned the first page of the romance novel, eager to immerse myself in its tender tale. The story unfolded like a delicate dance, a waltz of whispered promises and stolen glances. Each word painted a vivid picture in my mind, transporting me to a realm where love bloomed like flowers in spring. With every chapter, I found myself drawn deeper into the lives of the characters, their emotions becoming entwined with my own.

All that was enough for Joan to refuse his advances now that he wants an actual romance. But Joan could feel it. She was afraid because she could feel it, but it didn't make it disappear. She loved reading romance novels. The MLs in these books are so different than the real-life men. The love they show feels so pure. She wondered if she would ever get to experience that kind of love. The thought caused her feeling giddy. She wants her man to be possessive, a little bit obsessive, and hella romantic. Someone who will kiss the ground she walks on. Someone who will choose her and only her every time. She will be his first choice.

And to think I hadn’t wanted to sign up for this course. Adrian raised up the attendance sheet in his hand. “If I call your name, let me know you’re here.” He began reading and students answered one after another. His voice never wavered. Neither did his expression. You would’ve thought he hadn’t just discovered his one-night stand from a week ago was a student in his class.. I’d have thought I hallucinated the whole thing if I still couldn't remember the feel of his lips against mine. Or the way he’d moaned in my ear when I hit all the right spots.
