In all honesty, Rhianne has zero knowledge when it comes to dating and romance. All the things she knows in this field all came from the romance books and stories online she read before. All those books gave her a small idea about the concept as well as the process of dating between two people. Still, it is not enough for her to truly understand it emotionally.

"You don't strike me as the romance type." I looked at her intently. "Is it one of those raunchy books with shirtless men carrying scabbards on the cover."

“She’ll probably spend the whole holiday in here if you let her.” I walked the aisles slowly, trailing my fingers over the books. Classics. Thrillers. A whole section of contemporary romance—Mirabel’s doing, mostly. She’d started collecting them in high school, said they were “escapist but smart.” I’d never read them. Too many happy endings. Too much hope wrapped in pretty words. I pulled one down at random. Dark cover, brooding man in a suit, and title written in gold foil: Claimed by the Billionaire. I snorted softly, then slid it back.

“I haven’t even met him.” “Exactly!” she shouted. “That’s worse! Falling for someone you’ve never seen is peak disaster energy.” “I’m not falling for anyone.” “Good.” She pointed at me again. “Because emotional damage is expensive. And I know you. You fall for men with mystery, danger, and cheekbones sharp enough to stab you.” “I do not!” “You SO do.” Mira narrowed her eyes. “And this man sounds like he invented cheekbones.” I let out a breath and slung my bag over my shoulder. “I’ll be okay. I promise.”

The handwriting was neat but feminine with looping letters that spoke of care. I don’t know why but I feel like reading a romance novel, It’s been very long since I read a romance novel but something is just telling me to ahead and read it, the only times I enjoy reading a romance novel is when I am with Evan, we always read novels together. It’s actually a fun simple way to spend the weekend.
