“Not quite what I had in mind when I pictured our life together. I was thinking more along the lines of quiet dinners and maybe a vacation now and then.”
“Right,” Seraphina snorted. “Because nothing says ‘romance’ like legal battles and blackmail.”
“Hey, at least we’re getting our dose of drama,” Damien quipped, a grin spreading across his face.
“True,” Seraphina conceded, her smile matching his. “But next time, let’s aim for something less soap opera and more rom-com.”
Damien laughed, the sound rich and genuine. “Deal. Maybe we can even throw in some cliché romantic gestures. Like a moonlit dance in the rain or something.”
