"What is your decision, Sire?" Ronan took a deep breath, his chest heaving. The rage still simmered, but a chilling resolve had settled over me. "Marceline," he announced, his voice resonating through the silent throne room. "I hereby banish you from the Mountain Dew Pack. If you ever set foot in our territory again, you'll be killed on sight." He turned to face her, his gaze locking with hers, leaving no room for doubt. "This is the height of my mercy I can give you."

"Are... you familiar with this man, Mister?" Ronan clicked his tongue in displeasure, his fingers tapping the edge of the book. "I wouldn't want to be close to the Ghalow gang." I nodded slowly, agreeing with his tone. "Of course. Just from the photo, this man looks insane." I paused for a moment, racking my brain. "By the way, Mister... do you also have a hobby of filming wolf torture like Gary does?" A chill suddenly radiated from his body. He gripped my waist. "Did Gary show you such disgusting footage?"

Right now, he was too busy enjoying my suffering to be useful. Beside him, Ronan—my Gamma—was the very picture of poorly contained amusement. If Kael felt like steady heat, this man felt like lightning waiting to strike. He leaned against one of the porch posts, arms crossed, dark hair pulled back loosely at his neck. His eyes were lighter than Kael’s — amber with flecks of green — and far less guarded. “Let me guess,” she said. “Also a werewolf. Also weirdly intense.” His grin was quick and sharp. “Ronan. Second-in-command. And I prefer ‘charmingly intense.’” She huffed a small laugh before she could stop herself. “Lena. Newly traumatized.”

Every attempt of mine to not sound bitter had been thrown out the window by now, and I wasn't sure I liked it. A thousand more questions hung on the tip of my tongue, but before I could get any more of them out, a man approached us. He looked older, tall and built like a bear. He wore a cut with more patches than I could count, but it was the way Ronan nodded at him that made me realize how much he mattered. “Vivienne , this is Maverick.” Ronan quipped. “My second in command.” “She's hot.” Maverick said more to Ronan than to me. One glance was all he took, before turning his attention to Ronan again. “Dangerous too. You keeping her?”

He just wanted to march upstairs and hug her so that she could get her strength from him and just get through the night. “Uh-if you say so! But please Theo, don’t torcher yourself like this and go home if you feel like it’s affecting you too.” Ayleen sounded skeptical about his claim and he can’t blame her. He sensed a warrior step forward and stand next to him. “You are not mated.” Norman, a mated warrior who was older than him spoke up. “I’m not.” Theo didn’t look away from the balcony of Azraiel’s room, the source of her scent.
