MR GAY AND I Chapter Sixty Eight- Confident Jackson Jackson walked down the stairs with his robe on while he talked to someone from The McClain Winery over the phone. "I thought I just wanted to show the CEO, why would the directors come too? " Jackson asked as he scratched his forehead. "I do not know why the CEO chose to invite the director, all I know is that he's confident of what you have to show them as the new product" The thick male voice sounded from the phone.

He called. He was dressed on a black slack that came loose, but fair enough for his build, paired with a casual shirt underneath a leather jacket. His hair nestled messily, yet unnoticed on top of his head. It was Jackson, who had first have his job on the station located in Belize, a fresh grad from the academy, however, he deems to lack the experienced, which he was aiming for. On his hand, he was clutching a brown envelope, while running after his breathe.

"Mr. Jasper, I know your conversation with Mr. Javier didn't end well tonight. But I hope you won't hold a grudge against him. He has his own burdens." Jasper's expression darkened. "What burdens?" Rory looked pained. In a raspy voice, he replied, "I'm sorry. It's not my place to share. But I still hope—" "I'm not holding any grudges against him." Jasper met Rory's gaze squarely. "First, he is the chairman of the corporation—the one who gave me my authority. As his son, I'm also his subordinate. Regarding his decision tonight, all I can say is that I deeply regret it.

The list from this morning was reorganising itself into something that felt less like damage control and more like strategy, and strategy had steps, and steps were manageable. I could work with manageable. I came through the lobby, badge in, lift up, along the corridor to my office. And stopped. Jackson was standing outside my door. Not waiting in the way people waited when they had an appointment — no phone in hand, no casual lean against the wall. Standing the way someone stood when they had been there for a while and had something specific to say and had been rehearsing exactly how to say it. He looked up when he heard my heels. "Ms. Royce." His voice was even. "We need to talk."

“If ya’d waited a few more days to come, ya would have. I was fixin’ to send someone for supplies.” “Jasper sent some with me.” “That’s good, at least.” Jackson took one last drag on his cigarette and then tossed it to the ground. Grinding it to nothingness with the sole of his boot, he said, “So, we need to figure out what to do with these folks. Where’s the boss now?” Roy rolled his eyes and nodded toward Ian’s little house. Jackson sighed. “Okay, I’ll go pay the happy couple a visit.” “I’ll go see if I can’t occupy the doc and his daughter with a bit of food.”

Before Jax could answer, the gym door rattled. Someone was trying to open it. “Jax? You in there?” Marcus “Reaper” Kane’s voice called out. They froze. Rory quickly fixed her clothes while Jax pulled on his shirt. “Stay hidden,” he whispered, then opened the door just enough to step out. Rory pressed herself against the wall, heart hammering, as she heard Reaper talking to Jax about a new threat from Victor Lang. When the coast was clear, she slipped out. But as she made her way back upstairs, she didn’t notice Julian standing at the end of the hallway, watching her with narrowed eyes.

The organ played Rhea escorted her best friend, Rory down the aisle, for the second time to the same man, her eyes met with a pair of brown eyes she thought she would never see again, a pair that belonged to a man she thought she had forgotten. Jason. He glared at her from his position as the best man standing close to Nate Walters, Rory's husband. To say she was shocked would be a vast understatement, she had no idea he was Nate's best friend, during Rory first marriage.

Dixie is busy fighting for her life, and the council is busy planning her death! Making my way straight to the healer's hall, I unexpectedly meet my friend, Ryder. He looks pissed off, so I ask him, “What's wrong, Ry?” “Your human mate has a human friend. Remember that nerd that follows her about like a lovesick puppy?” He asks. “Yes...uhh... what's his name again?” I always forget his name as he is hardly anyone important. “Jackson.” Ryder spits out. He is visibly pissed off, and I wonder what Jackson did this time. That human has a knack for being nosy.

< Rory > I was thrown off by the sudden presence of someone in my room. I looked at him and hissed. ‘’Don’t walk into my room like that. Knock.’’ He said nothing. He walked around the room in circles, like a predator going in for the kill. ‘’What’s your game here, Rory? I get back from leave and i heard you sacked all the staff.’’ ‘’I can do what I want, Mikel. I know my place. It seems you don’t.’’

I replied as she finally let me go to hug Emma. “Hey, firecracker. I missed you.” Rory approached with a cheeky grin and threw his arm over my shoulder. Rory was a handsome guy. He was around six-foot-three with shaggy dark brown hair, a lean yet muscular build, and a smile that could make any woman weak in the knees. His amazing personality only added to his charm. “Hey, kid,” I replied, knowing how much it bugged him when I called him that. He was only a few months younger than me, but I enjoyed teasing him.
