The Vampire's Intern
Jeremy called after me as I stormed through the crowd of dancers down below, but I ignored him, blinking back tears as I burst out through the front door and into the cold air.
I should’ve brought a coat, but thankfully I didn’t have to wait long for my uber. I had my arms wrapped around myself when who I assumed was the driver walked up to me. He had his arms dug into the pockets of his hoodie, and a cap was pulled low over his face.
“Are you the driver?” I asked, narrowing my eyes.
“Yes.” His voice was low.
“Where’s the car?”
He cocked his head to the side, “Down that corner, I can’t park here because of the fines.”
