Hasn’t he ever heard the saying, there’s no honor among thieves? Rogue and I smirk at his belligerent tone. “Yeah, it’s truly horrible when someone betrays your trust, isn’t it?” I jeer sarcastically. Rogue chuckles in reply. “Poor, Mario is Sebastian’s little bitch boy, patsy.” Sousa’s grimace comes out as more of a painful cry when Rogue begins to smash his ribs with a bat. The thumping and the cracking sound of the bat connecting with his stomach would be gruesome to a normal bystander but music to our ears.

"Do you wanna go out?" She muttered faintly. So faintly that he'd have mistaken it for a rush of wind if he was human. "What?" Xavier blurted out in disbelief, tightening his hold onto the bridge railing. Aster scoffed, "You have super hearing and for what?" "Sorry, I was just taken aback." Xav shyly averted his gaze and stared at the ground, unable to look her in the eye. "Are you serious?" She sighed, "You know how much I hate putting myself in this kinda situation so hell yeah, I'm serious."

My heart is pounding in my ears and I can't even hear my own thoughts clearly. This was a bad idea. A bad idea. "Hunt," I said softly, rubbing my thumb against his hand. "I don't know what to say," he said. "So now you're with the rogues and you believe everything they say." "Hunt, I think they can help me. I'm not saying I believe them. They said they aren't the only rogues in the area. They just stuck together because they are hybrid and they've been kicked out from their old packs."

Its eyes were two green-ghoulish orbs the size of a lantern and its fangs, sharp and huge, were the size of an elephant's tusks. This was the object that had lunged for but missed Xiaoyue! Despite the strength and gigantic girth of its mutated body that could have shattered the wall, the bat was also insanely fast! The gigantic bat clambered back to its feet, readying itself for another assault. But before it could pounce, Xiaoyue brandished her sword. With a sharp "Clank" and a gleam of sword radiance of her weapon, the mutant bat was instantly cleaved into halves.

Then, he strode over and took my hand firmly. Raising our joined hands high, he declared in a loud, unwavering voice: “I, Derek, Alpha of the Rogue Pack, claim Ella as my Luna!” Before the stunned spectators could react, Derek turned around—dragging my still-numb body with him—and left the hunting grounds without hesitation. A tidal wave of shocked murmurs and gasps exploded behind us, echoing across the field. Amanda collapsed into her father Alex’s arms, sobbing uncontrollably. “Dad! I can’t take this humiliation! That moment—it should have been mine!

The impact threw debris into the air, and the shockwave hit my chest like a hammer. She stood in the crater she’d made, her gaze sweeping across us with no hint of recognition, only rage. How were we supposed to knock her unconscious when she could dodge everything we threw at her? We needed to disorient her. I reached behind me and pulled out the Sonic screamer. Its sharp hum vibrated against my palms as I powered it on. I gave Quin a signal, a single nod. She raised another Dream Blaster. “On my mark,” I said, tightening my grip.

One of the cylindrical sonic disrupters flickered, its hum building to a whine, then ceasing. The pressure in the room eased a quarter. Quick as a flash, with a breath of relief, Sabatine ducked under a swinging baton and struck the man in the throat with an elbow. He took hold of a stun baton when he saw a man crumpling and thrust it into an attacker’s ribs. The man jolted and collapsed. "The sound field was fragmenting, becoming patchy," Tom noted. "The other disruptors were warbling in an unordered Anton stood gasping over the faulty console, his hands scorched, his ears ringing in the sudden, relative quiet. His eyes met Sabatine’s across the room.

The only reason I remained standing on my feet was because Niole walked over to me and pulled me in for a hug. "We are doing all we can for the both of them. I am not going to let them go without a fight of my own," Nicole reassured me and I knew that she would do everything she could. She was, after all, the best doctor in the pack and that's why so many people wanted to see her. She had even stitched up a rogue or two for her son before Jayson let the rogue go under the promise that they wouldn't be caught anywhere near our land again. It was a strange system, but something about it worked because we rarely saw rogues around our territory.

Xavier burst into a crazy laugh. “I deserve it??……….well I guess you can say you also deserve whatever it is I dish you tonight” Xavier said and went straight to the trunk of the car, opened it and brought out a slim bat. Marcus got surprised as he actually realized he was about to watch his father get beaten.
