After Hamburg, we slipped back into open countryside. Eventually we reached a towering fence, easily nine feet high, stretching out for what looked like a hundred yards or more, with a heavy steel gate dead center. The driver pulled up, must’ve entered a code, because the gate slid open slowly and we rolled onto the grounds of whatever estate the royals used as their headquarters.
