My heart almost jumped out of my chest at the sudden croaky voice. I slowly looked over my shoulder, my hands starting to shake, and found Steve looking at me, a mad glint in his eyes. I gulped, standing up, knowing that it wasn't the normal Steve. He was a psychopath right now who wanted nothing more than me. Be strong, Ruby, I told myself and stood my ground.
