Russian Roulette Novels & Stories

Rose's eyes widened, perspiration filled her face at the thought of dying. Russo clicks off the safety of the gun and then………….. Click!

Dante opened the box, and the Russian roulette was exposed. Nero picked up the gun before he sat on the bed and spinned the cylinder. “Ciao, bellezza. [Hello Beauty]” Nero’s hoarse voice made a shiver run down Lena’s spine with her gaze focused on the gun in the man’s hand. “Come ti chiami, habibi? [What’s your name, Habibi]?” he asked, but Lena couldn't understand a word he was saying. A creepy smile formed on Nero’s face before he pointed at the space before him.

"Well, you have no choice!" Margaux could have said more things, but then Rome didn't give her a chance to push back anymore. Swiftly, he reached for the gun sitting quietly on the table and started feeding its cylinder with three bullets. One flick to shuffle what he had loaded in it, and he pushed the cylinder back to its place without looking at her. "Have you tried playing Russian Roullete before, Cara mia?" "What the? R-Rome, no! I can't. We can't—shit!"

[Third person’s Point of View—Nikolai] The scent of smoke and liquor permeated the entire room. The tension around the long glass table is so thick that even the sharpest knife could not cut through. Nikolai seated calmly at the end, but his one hand poised on the band of his waist where he tucked a revolver ready to fire in case something broke out. On the opposite side of the table sat an older man, roughly in his late sixties or early seventies.

A game that required someone willing to risk their life. Russian Roulette. He laughed. I'll never forget that laugh. The head of the Southerns chuckled and said, “You’re an interesting young woman. I’ll play this game with you, but only if you promise not to chicken out.” I smiled and nodded. One bullet loaded, five empty chambers. I was betting my life on it for Lucian. But I felt confident. My father had taught me to be strong, bold, even savage when necessary. The game began. Five minutes later, we’d shot four blanks, and there were two chambers left. One contained a bullet; the other was empty. I didn’t flinch, but the head of the Southerns did.

Then, with a flick of my wrist, I snapped it shut. "Russian roulette. One shot." I handed the revolver to him. "Hold it against your head, and shoot. If you survive, I'll let you guys go. If you die, it'll be your atonement." Caleb held my gaze, but his pupils were blown wide and trembling. Blood and sweat trickled down his temples, all mixed together. His handsome face looked pathetic now. "What? You're too scared?" I giggled. "Weren't you pretty brave when you schemed against my mother?"

I asked, more intimidated by the second. "Don't worry. None of them is going to harm you," Caishen assured, but I was doubtful. "We're going to play a little game." He took out a revolver from his jacket's pocket and put it on the table. "You're kidding me right?" I laughed hysterically. I knew that this man was insane, but I couldn't see anything "safe" about playing a game that required a gun. He smirked. "Have you ever heard of Russian Roulette?" he asked while taking out two bullets and placing them in two random cylinder chambers.

There was a twinkle in his eyes, meaning that he had a plan, meaning that his plan was that he knew her plan. "I won't choose." She said to Payne, sniffing. She clasped her knife firmly. "Well then. You must be forgetting we have a fucking ticking time bomb. I will help you make your decision faster. On count of ten, you both must tell me who your choice is. In the mean time, our Russian roulette begins now." He clicked the gun with a single bullet and rotated the cylinder. "One..." He pulled the trigger, pointing the gun at Collins. The gun clicked.

And I think, maybe for the first time… I want to. “Russian roulette,” I say, calm as ice. “If you’re lucky, you take Stone and leave this ship. I’ll wire fifteen million to a Swiss account of your choosing. More than enough for plastic surgery, a new passport, a new face — so I never have to see your rotting soul behind those pretty eyes again.” Céline exhales, sharp and shallow. “And if I’m not lucky?” I smile. Madness curls at the edges of my mind like smoke, sweet and slow.

He didn't stop her, only looked at her intently and said, "Tania, before you go, play one last game with me. Let's place a bet." Without slowing her steps, she glanced at him coolly. "I'm not interested." "The stakes are your freedom and my life." Simone raised his hand, and Cesario stepped forward carrying a black wooden box. When opened, a vintage revolver was revealed, its metal gleaming coldly. "Bullet roulette. There's only one bullet in the chamber. I'll pull the trigger and gamble on whether the last shot will fire."
