His eyes stared at Bryan with a look of anger and hatred. “Go ahead, I don't care. But don't come to me if your skills only damage RoseGold's image.” Bryan grinned faintly. There was no fear in his heart despite seeing the anger in Jacob's eyes. He also didn't intend to undermine Jacob's abilities, it was just that if Bryan didn't intervene, who knows what would happen to some of the projects that he thought were crucial. Jacob handled quite a lot directly, but the results were less than satisfactory.

Two redwoods had caught fire, the flames licking higher over the bark. Adrenaline shot through me. Ruby was on the edge of the blaze, choking and coughing and beating at it with her jacket. “Focus on the underbrush,” I yelled as the firetruck came to a halt too far away. “Cut down the brush around the fire and get water on this!”

Ravyn and Joe glanced at each other before spurring their horses onward, galloping at full pelt. A huge explosion of fire erupted out of thin air to meet them. Ravyn and Joe's horses panicked and reared, whinnying in fear and alarm. Ravyn had to fight with her reigns to keep control. The heat of the fire was astounding, sending hot flushes running down her body. Joe beside her swore under his breath, signaling their men behind him to halt, to wait for the fire to clear. Ravyn blinked against the brightness of the flames, there was only one person who could command such power. Relief allowed Ravyn to give a little ghost of a smile on her lips. Sephora was alive.

The moment the humans realize something’s off, Caden’s fire ignites—flames flickering inside him, curling through his limbs. Drake roars, “NOW!” He tackles me to the ground just as Baylee releases her power. Wind whooshes through her shield, funnelling into Caden’s flaming hand—then explodes outward. Our warriors hit the ground. The humans don’t even scream. They vanish in a wave of white-hot fire, reduced to ash in seconds. The blaze consumes everything in its path—grass, weapons, the evil that brought them here. Baylee screams. The sound echoes for miles.

With a final glance toward Alex, his battle with Wynter still raging, I shout through the link, my voice commanding the entire battlefield, “Push forward! We finish this now!” A bright red fire snakes through the field, burning wendigos as it moves, before Sabrina pulls it back, focusing it on two wendigos charging towards her. Her arms, covered in runes, are raised, and her eyes blaze a glowing crimson.

I saw the flames that had swallowed the red sky and rendered it inaccessible to see through the windows slowing down. Oh no! This shouldn't happen. Fire was the only weakness of Frederick. In order to keep it active, I controlled my breaths and focused myself on feeling the blood coursing through my veins. I focused deeper to unlock the fire ability and glared out of the window to increase the flames. Seeing the long flames carved by my ability hiding the sky was satisfactory until I saw a bolt of ray striking inside the window piercing my created flames.
