They overlapped in a deafening and contradicting crash.

“Sleep.”

“STOP!” I screamed my guts out, exposing every fear, confusion, and frustration I had stuffed deeply, inside of me. . My knees hit nothing and everything all at once. Tears scorched my face. “Stop, stop, stop!”
And then, silence fell upon everything. A meadow again, but not the training ground. This one was too bright. It was too green and the sky unnaturally blue. Saira was there, kneeling in the grass with her fingers weaving strands of wildflowers into a crown.
