*** Writer’s POV: The youngsters gathered around their camp fire with marshmallows, mini hotdogs and chips. “So, who starts?” Matt mused. “Scary stories?” Saïda asked. “Heck no. What are we? Kids?” Matt laughed. “Freaky stories, Darling,” Brittany mused. “Right. The dirtiest and freakiest ones we’ve experienced individually and are ready to share with everyone,” Allison added with a laugh.

Liam coaxes me from his chest. That story has me terrified for some reason. Did all that really happen? Is there really some evil man looking to kill all werewolves? I lift my head slightly, so I can make sure the light really is on. I see Dallas kneeled down beside me, and he places his hand on my back. “Hey, it’s just a story. Don’t worry, you’re safe.” I feel like a little kid getting scared so easily from a freaking story, but I can’t help it. It has my head reeling; I doubt I’ll sleep well tonight.

She jumped. “Yes, Alpha?” "You know something." It was a no-brainer. Sarah’s eyes grew wide. Immediately. "I don't—" "Sarah." She immediately fell silent. The poor girl looked ready to cry again. I felt really sorry for her. A bit. Darian could be scary when he wanted answers. Very scary. Sarah drew a shaky breath. Then another one. At length she spoke. I heard the stories. I tensed up. As the night went on, the guys told scary stories, which were really scary, like the horror films Mya makes me watch.

I then noticed a comment in the comment section. "In the original story, Waylon's insistence on marrying Zoe led to a fallout with his parents. Zoe eventually drove the Sorenson family into bankruptcy, causing his parents to age decades in one night and commit suicide by jumping from a building. Their current situation just makes me want to burst into tears."

The room felt too small, the air too thick. “What?” she screamed suddenly, the sound sharp and piercing. Raf winced and released her instantly, clutching his ear. “Honey Bee—my ears!” Darren, Logan, and the others hissed in collective pain inside his head. Instead of sympathy, Saraya slapped his arm hard. “You idiot!” she snapped. “For so long I’ve been going nuts, thinking I turned into some evil monster, and you didn’t even have the courtesy to tell me the truth!” Her face flushed red, anger mixing with fear and leftover terror. “Here I thought I’d become an evil vampire, but no—the story is entirely different!”

Tess I find many things in this world scary: walking to the bathroom late at night when you don’t have a nightlight on, fake friends, the members of the Safir pack, and last, and probably my biggest fear, is the thought of spending eternity alone. Sue me for thinking that’s a terrible fate, but that is how I feel without lying to myself.
