Star-Crossed Wolves: Silver Moon Rising

Star-Crossed Wolves: Silver Moon Rising

"We can't bring back the people we've lost. But we can honor them by continuing the work they started. By refusing to let fear and hatred dictate our future." I stepped back from the podium. The applause that followed felt distant, muffled. Dean Whitmore called the next speaker. I returned to my seat, my legs shaking. Marcus clapped me on the shoulder. "Well done." "Thanks." I watched as others took their turns. Each person sharing their connection to someone lost. Their commitment to making the sacrifices mean something. POV: Bea Sharpe Ben and I went up together. We'd written our speech jointly, deciding to honor Otto as a team.

But honestly there isn’t much I could think of. “First I would have to give a speech to calm the workers down." I stated my plan to Ethan as he drove off. He nodded. “That would be great.” “Today, we are grateful for every worker who made it home safely. To those who faced danger underground, your courage and resilience will never be forgotten. To the families who have lost loved ones, there are no words that can truly ease your pain. We mourn with you, and we honor the lives of those we have lost.

His tone was icy, yet tinged with curiosity. Levi swallowed, pressing forward. "My apology… it's too late. I know it can't bring Beth back. Apologies don't undo death." Roosevelt's laughter rolled over the battlefield, dark and hollow. "Do you think words matter? Can they resurrect the dead? No. They can't."

Bite Me, My Fated Alpha King

Bite Me, My Fated Alpha King

After a minute or so, I ran my tongue along the front of my teeth, wracking my brain for the speech that I had half-prepared, but, with everyone in front of me, that had gone completely out of the window. "I hadn't seen my parents since I was young, but I missed them every day when in the lab. What happened to them was unfair and something that they didn't deserve. I only wish that I had the opportunity to speak to them one last time to tell them that I love them. Having my Mother buried here is a privilege, as I know that everyone will forever treat this area with respect. Thank you everyone for coming. It means more than you know."

37 Days

I say and the tears come flowing as I knew they would when I said those heart wrench words out loud. “You wouldn’t want this for me. You didn’t give me life so I could stop it on my own. I know you would want me to continue on, you would want me to be happy and to stop blaming myself for everything that happened that day. I know you, and I know you would appreciate it when I say, I disconnected your phone today. I need to let you rest in peace now, I’ll be okay, whatever life throws at me Mom, I will be okay.” I finish my speech as my face is covered with more tears, but not sad ones this time.

But I do not think I can go near him again because of what he did. The king cleared his throat and began his speech. "Today, we gather in this solemn space, heavy hearts beating with sorrow. We come together to honor the life and legacy of a truly beloved individual. Though tears may flow, and grief may weigh upon us, let us remember that we are here to celebrate the incredible journey of a remarkable soul who touched our lives in profound ways."

If I'm being completely honest, I would probably be far worse in my grammar as a native English speaker, so showing some grace & respect is of the utmost importance as Jennifer works hard to bring Laika and Karim to life for the reader. I hope she continues with many more stories or spin-offs.

This author writes so well and keeps me keeps me totally hooked. I can’t wait till the next update every chapter I read. If this book was already completed, I would read it thru in a couple days and not get anything else done except to just totally enjoy the story she has created. Love it!

The floodgates of grief opened, and he wept, his sorrow echoing through the room. I offered whispered words of comfort, my voice breaking as tears mingled with my words. "I'm so sorry, Levi. I can't begin to fathom the depth of your pain. But know that you're not alone. I'm here for you, always." Levi took a shaky breath, his voice barely a whisper as he found the strength to speak. "You know the saddest part about this?" he asked, his eyes searching mine for understanding, longing for a response before he continued.

Donavon's lost Luna

Donavon's lost Luna

His eyes, dark and introspective, scanned the faces around him—each one a tapestry of loss and resilience. “Remember,” he began in a deep, resonant voice that carried far enough for everyone to hear, “that every soul we lost today, every life sacrificed, is a beacon guiding us toward a future where such pain will no longer be repeated. Our unity—our willingness to care for one another—is our greatest strength.” His words, though somber, were imbued with a promise of renewal that stirred the hearts of those listening.

Blood and Moon: Book Two - Onyx

Atlas’ POV Moments like these had me glad Dad was still alpha. I hated giving speeches and these were the fucking worst. Having to look someone in the eyes and tell them you’re sorry for their loss, all will be okay, or time will heal and all that other shit is just fucked up and it wasn’t true, because they weren’t going to be okay. The severing of a bond was not something so easily forgotten. If it didn’t kill you, the pain it caused would be a forever part of you.

Rewrite Our Story: Best Friend's Brother Second Chance

As soon as it happens, she’s moving on, keeping her composure as she continues to give the speech. “With everything in me, I know all of you already know that we lost one of the best humans to walk this Earth. She’ll be terribly missed, and I think it’ll be a long time until it really sinks in that she isn’t here anymore. I don’t want to stand up here and go on and on about how we will move on from this because truthfully—I don’t know how we will.”
