My mother and sister never liked me. The only son they ever truly cared about was my older brother, Lucian Vieri. Before she married me, Serafina Valcieri, the only daughter of one of the most feared syndicates in the country, was always the one who stepped in when I was cornered, mocked, or blamed for things that were never mine to carry. But Lucian still needs this child. If anything had happened to Cassian, none of you would have walked away from it.” I stood there in silence, listening to every word. The child my wife was carrying was never mine. It had been conceived through IVF to save my brother. And the marriage I had trusted from the beginning had never belonged to me alone. I had spent my whole life coming second to Lucian. I just never thought Serafina would be the one to prove it. If no one truly wanted me, then I would leave.

"I'm sorry, I'm in a hurry," Cole said, not breaking his gaze at the woman's beautiful eyes. "I'm trying to catch someone." The woman in front of her was like an angel, although Cole hadn't met one in his life. She smiled sheepishly. "Me, too. I'm trying to catch someone. I'm Brielle,” she said, looking adorable when her cheeks blushed. Cole's eyebrows raised, wishing he could read her mind, but it wasn't one of the skills he had. Before he could ask her, Brielle's lips curved into a seductive smile. "I'm trying to catch you," she said as she placed her hands on the back of his neck, raising her heels and kissing him passionately. Cole thought it was the sweetest kiss he had ever tasted in his lifetime, knowing it was an enemy's kiss.

So she was interrupted, Romeo slumped to the floor unconscious and Cj took off, into the forest never to be seen again.

Don't think closing a five-hundred-thousand-dollar contract lets you ignore company rules. Reimbursements must all follow policies. Everyone will follow them to the letter." I took a deep breath. I knew arguing with her head-on would get me nowhere, so I called Zack directly. Zack said, "I did say it would be reimbursed, but I never said company rules could be ignored. It's just five hundred. And you still get commission from closing the deal. You young people need to have perspective." I stopped arguing. I turned around and refused the delivery containing the hard copy of the five-hundred-thousand-dollar cooperation contract, smiling as I explained, "Company rules say all cash on delivery packages must be refused. "Also, today is my last day here. Starting tomorrow, I work for Richard's company. As the client, I will be setting the rules this time."
