I let out a cough and rubbed the back of my neck. “Yeah, Mom, sorry. This is Demi she is a… um” Damn, what was she called again. “A Keres” Demi answered for me. “Right, a Keres. She assists the Gods in a way kind of like a Valkyrie.” My mother nodded her head. “She was sent here by our Goddess Selene and the Dragon God Typhon to keep an eye on me.”

I stared into Zack's eyes, making sure he heard every word. "You lost me once?" His tears rolled down his cheeks and into the palm of my hand. "Yes, I lost you once. I saw your car explode in the fire, but by the time I got there, it was already too late… After you died, I begged the Moon Goddess. I wanted to trade my life just to have another chance for you." I looked at Zack in shock. "So you were reborn too?"

Koa stood up, patted the dust from his clothes, and solemnly recited, “All phenomena are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows—like dew and lightning. One should view them as such.” Moa: “…” Did her brother go nuts? She walked over, touched his forehead, then checked her own. “…No fever?” Koa gently swatted her hand away. “Keep your claws off me.” Moa pouted and looked him over. “Seriously, what’s wrong with you?” “Nothing. I just suddenly felt the world’s deep malice toward me.” Koa sighed deeply. Moa planted her fists on her hips. “What?” “Don’t ask. Just go.”

The door slamming in the distance snapped me from my restless slumber, snapping my head up, I caught a glimmer in the distance as they approached me. The knife glaring in the man’s hand was easy to identify once he was close enough and even though his face remained concealed the tattoo wrapped around his wrist was clearly visible. The eight phases of the moon. A symbol of enlightenment and darkness, immortality and eternity. It was beautiful, nature’s very own yin-yang. “Good Afternoon, Goddess Selene.” Dark greeted me with a sinister smirk on his face, to which I responded with a flat look.

Samantha snapped out from her dreamy fantasy and diverted her attention to Ruan. “The Luna Goddess of the Moon.” “I think I remember dad saying that you met her. I didn’t expect it to be real.” “Well, your father, my brother also said that the Luna Goddess sometimes blesses some certain people who worships her. Do you think that girl is blessed by her?” Ruan looked at Kaliyah who was still immersed in her training. “She is.” “But being blessed also means many people will be greedy on her. they will try to have her in their possession. Thus, danger will follow her wherever she goes…”

I tap the photo, “this is where Thea will be. I’m sure of it.” “How do you know, Knox?” Bria asks as she takes the picture to study it. “Our oracle, she gave me a vision. There were four people in this clearing. I didn’t see the faces, but I saw the Supermoon.” “That doesn’t mean its the target you saw,” Captain Griffin chirps. I roll my neck at his all business attitude. I tell them about Sybil’s riddle and my attempt at the vision, including what I saw and what the Moon Goddess warned against. They each digest the information, glancing between the maps and photos and each other.

It stayed at the edges of the district, a white, hungry wall that surrounded the docklands. Laila collapsed as the silver light finally died. Kaden was there before she hit the ground, pulling her into his arms. He looked at the retreating fog, and then at Elias. He asked the boy how he did that. Elias sat down on the concrete, his small frame shaking. He said the Archive had shown him the "Lullaby of the Moon." He told them that the Soul Eaters were vibrations of hunger and that the Silverbacks were the only ones who knew the counter note. But he told Laila that he couldn't do it alone for much longer. He said the "chorus" wasn't a metaphor.

I was eighteen when I left my pack. I ran away with Stanley, my fated mate. He never gave me a proper mating ceremony. But I loved him. I would have done anything. I watched him build his pack. Become an Alpha. Take over half the territories in the North. The first time we made love, he marked my neck and promised me a grand ceremony. One day. I kept waiting. For over twenty years, I tried to be the perfect Luna for him. Then came my forty-fifth birthday. I thought it was time. Time for that ceremony he promised, in the sacred springs of Starfall Valley. But he had another surprise for me. I found him in our pack’s private hot spring, pinning his dead brother’s mate beneath him. That’s when

Hehe, sorry" Calvin rolled his eyes. "Like I was saying, 7. Ijus their king, Leluna, the goddess of the moon, and also Ijus twin sister. Galax, Asili, Selene, Kaios, and the seventh, the deity Eris. Eris is Kaios's twin sister." They gasped at the new information.
