It was like she was perpetually stuck in the graveyard! In her panic, Sally bumped into what looked like a figure of a man. The force of the bump made her fall on her back. The figure lurched towards her. Sally thought it was one of her neighbors on his way home... but it wasn't. What stood before Sally was not human. It was a zombie, an undead being with leathery skin and a missing eye. Sally screamed. The zombie moaned.

When Felix pulled up to the Peters’ home, he saw that it had been decorated for Halloween. A trio of small hollowed out pumpkins, each with a unique design, sat on the steps leading to the door. The door itself was adorned with a wreath made of autumn leaves, pinecones and faux spiders. A life-sized skeleton beside the door appeared to be waving to passersby.

I laugh at her when she crosses her arms over her chest like a petulant child. I have to fight the urge to pick her up into my arms. Does she even realize that she got me wrapped around her finger?

On Halloween, I was preparing the children’s area for the workshop when Mr. Sasagawa appeared, carrying a cardboard box in his botanical garden staff jacket. “Ms. Ono, will these do?” The box was packed with intricately carved miniature pumpkins. “They’re beautiful… Thank you so much.” We began arranging them along the top of the decorated bookshelves. Mr. Sasagawa helped, taking care not to disturb the origami decorations on the wall. Each pumpkin had a single letter carved into it. Placed in order, they spelled:

Ashley saw it and quickly taps on Selene's arms which froze on her spot. It was Indeed a miracle, to see her move.

The uninhabited back door was overgrown with weeds. As soon as Evonne tugged Sally out of the back door, they were surrounded by a few punks who were standing guard. "I did guess right, you came out of the back door." The man that was leading the group of punks looked at Sally with a wicked smile on his face. He greeted, "Cousin Sal, long time no see."

“These ones have frosting shaped like baby rattles. Is this vanilla or witchcraft?” “Both,” Chelsea said. “Also, don’t eat the ones shaped like dragon eggs—those are filled with lemon-lavender. They bite back.” As more pack members and allies arrived, music played from enchanted speakers (thank you, Chelsea), and the sound of laughter filled the air. There were games—some that involved blindfolded diaper changing and one suspiciously close to axe throwing that Charlie, of all people, dominated. “Did… did he carve that diaper genie out of a tree stump?” Jax asked, slightly alarmed.
