Rotimi made to run, but Sango was quicker as he pulled him back by his bag and he hit the car forcefully, causing a large dent. Sango removed the cap from his head, revealing a neatly plaited braids. He tore off the clothes from his body and it burnt away. He unleashed his axe and lightning struck. This attracted passers by as they all went to various safe places to take a good look and they brought out their phones to video what ever is going to happen. "Please I don't want to fight you. I don't want to die young" Rotimi pleaded staggering up. "like i said two people can't control my axe, one dies" Sango roared out.

He turned to the couch and brought up a small bag, handing it to me. I shook my head in question and he simply nodded for me to open it. Doing as told, I pulled out a black box, and taking the bag from me, Alessandro placed it on the couch again as I opened the box. My eyes widened in surprise at the diamonds that I saw. The bracelet was gold, and was covered in diamonds.

“I won’t miscalculate.” She turned back to the basin before he could argue her into a safer ruin. “Open,” Kaelira told the first fire. “By my mark and my measure.” The Sanctum considered. The light in the basin spun once—testing—then surged upward, split, and wove into an arch that smelled of frost and old blood. Winter air kissed her face. The price arrived like a hand pressing her eyes from within. Black bled into gold at the rim of her irises, swallowing color and returning it in a ring—half night, half dawn. Pain glanced off and lodged elsewhere. She did not let it show.

A few stare straight at me, horror plain on their faces. One of the Elders—Soren, maybe—drops to his knees, hands pressed to the torn-up ground. “By the Moon…” he whispers. “The markings…” I look down at my arms. Silver sigils glow, pulsing gently, sketching old patterns across my skin. They don’t hurt. But they’re aware, somehow. Like they know they’ve been seen. My stomach flips. I curl my fingers, trying—uselessly—to hide them. Caleb notices right away.

Alpha Carlo—the Terror of the SOUH—sat motionless upon his massive throne carved from black pearls, bleached bones, and the cured skins of long-dead slaves. His presence alone bent the air. One heavy arm rested against the throne’s edge, rings glinting like sharpened claws, his golden eyes half-lidded as though bored by existence itself. Below him, several elders sat stiffly, their voices reduced to cautious whispers. No one ever raised their voice in Carlo’s presence unless they wished to lose it—along with their tongue.

"Fifty." The square erupted. People were shouting now, pushing to see who would pay such a price for a human slave. My legs shook so badly I could barely stand. The trader's mouth hung open. He looked at Garrett, but the scarred alpha had gone pale. Slowly, he shook his head and backed away. "Sold!" The trader's voice cracked. "Sold to the hooded bidder for fifty gold pieces!" Guards rushed forward and cut the ropes from my wrists. My hands were numb. Everything felt like a dream, hazy and unreal.
