Elara’s heart thundered as her wolf surged, clawing, howling, yes.
The kiss lasted only a breath before he tore himself back, chest heaving. His hand hovered near her cheek but didn’t touch. His eyes blazed, half agony, half hunger.
“Elara,” he rasped, voice broken, “this will destroy you.”
Her lips trembled. “Or save me.”
His expression twisted, and with a raw sound he forced himself a step back. “Go inside, Princess. Before I do something neither of us can take back.”
Her throat ached, but she lifted her chin. “You can’t hide from this forever.”
