My divine blood began to flow steadily through the conduit. The poison seized the moment. It ignited, burning from the blood vessels into the bones, inch by inch, without pause. My fingers started to shake on their own. Something rose in my throat. I clamped down on it and made no sound. My divine power burned out within seconds. I felt like a lamp with the last of its oil gone. The flame flickered once and went out.
