Even their faces were goat-like, some with curling brown beards. “Satyrs,” Rosette whispered. “Delegates from the Black Vatican, to serve as England’s new spiritual advisers. They’re born, not made like lilitu or vampires. They’re not true immortals. Not even human, really.” Next came Salem, who looked over the crowd with an intense gaze and an intimidatingly dashing smirk.

Like an arrow leaving the bow, we shoot forward, a horde of wolves on a mission. When we finally arrive at the cave, there is already a goat and a large basket with all kinds of fruits waiting. It is suddenly quiet, everyone is now concentrating on what lies ahead. Elder Antony performs the rituals, in collective prayer, we all call on the Moon Goddess to bless us with prosperity and fertility. When the sheep's throat is cut, a smoke fire starts out of nowhere that scorches the beast. Slowly the fleece burns off and then the skin. This is the symbol that the sacrifice of the pack has been accepted by Selene. When the fire dims, the kitchen servants take the meat back to the packhouse to furt

To think that Crimson shifted from such a young age is unheard of. Gillian carries on “We were about seven years old when I first witnessed Kolby shift, he was upset that my father had struck me – leaving a mark on my face. So angry that he began to shift in a fit of rage. He ended up stuck in a partially shifted stage for days until the mark on my face had healed.” Gillian’s eyes wander off like she is caught in the memory she was describing. When her brows pull together seemingly pulling her out from whatever daze she was in she begins to speak again. “The bears pray to the gods of the north, recognizing many gods. The wolves pray to the moon goddess and worship her gifts. Humans pray to t

The smell of incense fills the air, and there’s this general sense that something big is going to be happening. “Tonight we’ll be making a sacrifice,” Kayden explains. “So you’re power may grow and you’ll become the goddess on earth that you were always meant to be.” “What do you mean?” I ask, confused by this. “What are we sacrificing?” I don’t like the word. It sounds too terrible. We’ve never done sacrifices before. Surely he means something symbolic. “Her,” Kayden says simply as we stand in front of a cage. My eyes widen as I look inside. There’s a frightened looking young woman and I know he must be joking. But this is the sickest form of a joke ever. And I can’t believe Kayden would do

He’s one of those small dicked men (thankfully I haven’t actually seen it, it’s just an assumption), with an ugly comb over and a pot belly. So I guess you could say I'll be having a good ol family reunion, queue the eye roll with a note of sarcasm. "Fucking little slut I don't know why the hell he still wants you" my aunt screeches then gives me one last kick to the side before santering off to do what ever snakes do. It has something to do with eating babies or some shit if I remember correctly. But so t take my words to the bank on that one, I could be confusing it with witches.

Kaleb burst into tears, "Miss, I'm sorry… I didn't touch you on purpose. Please don't hit me. Don't throw me into the sea to feed the sharks." Zoey wanted to cover his mouth, but the reporters were coming surround her, so Zoey hurriedly explained, "I didn't... He’s lying..." More and more people looked over. It also attracted Aaron, who was still being forced to meet women. Aaron recognized the child at a glance. He was the little bastard who had played tricks on him in the restaurant. The female companion beside him said, "How can she do something to a child?" "This woman is too bad."

Molie seemed uneasy, she looked at the both of us and then said, “But, I don’t have that much power, to perform such a ritual we would need a scapegoat. And that won’t happen if we use the real goat or any other animal…” Wait, we need humans? ”We, need humans?” Declan said it first. “Not necessarily human though… my Mom told me that she used a lot of prisoner in Blue Moon as the scapegoats for her to put the spell in the portal.” Prisoners? “Holy shit we could use those bandits right?” Now I could see a light in this dankness. Declan looked at me with widened eyes and I saw how he smirked. He just got the same idea as mine.

Just as Iris and Dom entered the ring where the priest was already present and reciting verses in Latin, the old dragon-shifter priest nodded, and four goats were brought to be sacrificed around the circle. For the first goat, Dom was the one to aid in the sacrifice. For the second goat, Iris was the one to aid in the sacrifice. For the third and fourth goats, Dom and Iris aided the sacrifice to the God Şekileus together. The blood of the animals was collected as the priest prayed, "Just like the leaflets of the cloverleaf! One animal for the Alpha King, one animal for the Alpha Queen, one for their children to be, and one for this tribe and all the shifters that will bow to them. May Şekile

Steady pulse at his throat. Breathing shallow. Eyes uncertain. Yes. He would do perfectly. “For this to work,” I said softly, almost gently, “there must be sacrifice.” His brow furrowed. “What kind of sacrifice?” I smiled. He was so naive. That was what made him the perfect scapegoat. “A human sacrifice, Landon. That's what the ritual needs.” He stared at me like I had grown two heads before he swallowed his fear and looked at me with resolve.

He hit play. A low, resonant howl, layered with other voices in a complex, chanting rhythm, filled the office. The ‘Blood Moon Howl’—a ritual declaration, a call to power and unity within Isaac Griffin’s pack. It was tradition, but when used now, in this climate, with Lana’s name being dragged through the mud, it wasn’t just tradition.
