I feebly called as I slightly pushed the screeching door -if you watched horror movies, you would know screeches were never a good sign. So when I heard voices, I immediately closed the door as I grabbed the baseball bat that rested against the nearby wall. "Rubs" I called as I stepped into the living room, alerted by a shrill sound -her laughter. "Ruby" I called as I pushed her door open to find her covered up in her duvet-a bottle of alcohol in her hands and the volume of the tv turned to the highest.

I held her hand and begged. Zara's POV I was standing in an empty and dark room. I was scared for I couldn't see anything. There were no windows. "Hello Zara," a voice that sent shivers down my spine said. "What am I doing here? Where am I? How did I get here?" I asked, trying not to show the fear. "I just wanted to talk. Maybe become friends. We are of the same breed, no?" he was a vampire. I could smell it.

I took the girls to my lab area, checked the younger girl's wound, and then cleaned it. As I was putting a small dressing on Daena, Dayla came fearfully into the lab. “What happened?” the she-wolf asked fearfully. “I was taking a shower; they were both in the room, and I—” “They were downstairs, almost ready to go, but Daena fell,” I said and looked at Dayma. “Can you explain to your mother what's going on?” Dayma ducked her head in fear. “We smelled a vampire,” the girl whispered, and I tensed. "For a moment we thought it was Daddy and went down to see him, but his scent was different. Daena says it's a ghost."

She whimpered in pain afraid to make noise that would trigger him. " Anything? He asked curtly, his voice barely above a whisper but could send a cold chill down her spine "Y...yes, I seduced her mate." " Go straight to the point," he growled. " Yes she reacted at the sight of blood, I think she's a vampire," she whispered the last part. She was really scary, she adds. " Hmmm...is that so, the man uttered throwing his head and laughed like a maniac. The Lady was scared at first but then join him in his laugh. They laughed together.

A growl rumbles up through my chest, but I don’t allow it to leave my lips so I don’t let on to Sabina that I am here. Sabina’s small form falls to the floor with a resounding thud as Lucern pulls away from her quickly, putting some distance between him and the female Vampire. A smug look takes over my face as I watch the disappointment flash in Sabina’s eyes before she smoothes out her features and pulls herself from the floor.

I watched as a light frown grew on her face while she looked back and forth in her bedroom making me smile lightly in amusement. Amaya: How can you see me? Is it a special power for vampires? The small amount of knowledge she has of vampires was kinda cute. Of course, she just learned about our existence today but still. Me: No, look outside of your window. She turned her head towards the window searching for me. It took a little time before she finally spotted me and smiled. She walked towards me and opened the window. "What are you still doing here?" She whispered. "I'm guarding you."

Despite the strangeness of the situation, Melia found herself finding his astonishment rather amusing. "Vampire..." he murmured, his gaze shifting towards Melia. "Perfect!" he exclaimed, throwing his arms up in a rare moment of elation. "It explains everything. It explains why you're still here, alive. Why... Or maybe... How do you become a vampire?" he asked abruptly, his curiosity getting the best of him. Melia arched an eyebrow and crossed her arms. "I'm not going to tell you that," she replied firmly, her voice as cool as a winter breeze.
