Chapter 2: Adrian and Seraphina's First Encounter The moonlight cascaded through the dense canopy, casting an ethereal glow upon the forest floor where Seraphina stood, entranced by the innocent play of the young vampires under her care. Their laughter echoed through the night, a melodic refrain that momentarily lifted her spirits. Yet, as she basked in their joy, a sudden, inexplicable urge tugged at her immortal heart, pulling her toward the heart of the forest, away from the safety of their nocturnal haven.

Camlin retrieved the rapier to toss it again. “Vampires,” Kayla whispered as realization struck her. The rapier was of silver, and it burned the soldier. The three v’s on their arm badges. Terror consumed Kayla. “V Empire.” A loud bang. The glass wall behind Kayla and the rest shattered, shards of glass flying through the air. They parried the shards with their hands shielding their eyes, swiveling their heads aside. Some shrieked and bent over. The next second, one of the vampires flew into the room through the broken glass and grabbed Kayla, disappearing immediately.

She swallowed hard and I could see the fear in her eyes. “You…” she breathed, staring at me like she had seen a ghost. She rose her trembling hand and pointed directly at me. “You’re … you’re a vam…vamp…vampire!!”

He got up and went to grab a book from his shelves, and hand a heavy book to Adrianna. "This will help you because I am not good at explaining things and facts." Said Alaric. Her palms touched the cover of the book which looked antique and royal. She read the title 'Vamoose', called Vampire in latin. "You didn't tell me you have kids." Alaric asked her.

"This is not the time to pretend to be strong or try to be stubborn, Erna!" Both he and Erna froze for a moment when they heard Bianca's words just now. For the first time in history, she heard Bianca yell at them like that. She swallowed hard, feeling a bit of fear wrap around her. As it seemed that her fear was caused by Bianca's vampire aura that she could faintly feel enveloping her vampire best friend. Bianca's irises turned a deep red like the colour of blood, with the woman's two canines poking slightly out of her lips, holding back a grunt.

“No way! The day isn’t over yet. You’re not escaping me this time.” I groaned. “Bella—” “Horror house,” Bella announced, triumphant. “The most popular attraction—line’s insane but worth it. Iris wants to go, right?” Iris’s eyes lit. “They have ghosts. I want to see ghosts.” “Vampires!” she squealed. “Bella, you screamed at a coat rack last month,” I reminded her. “That was different!” Bella protested, clutching my arm. “You’ll be there. I can use you as a shield.”

She looks from him to Dante who hadn't moved during the ordeal. "No... please Goddess, no..." she crawled over to him, nudging him, "Dante, get up." she demanded of him, but he didn't move. She looks down at his stomach, seeing the black ichor substance staining his skin slowly, "You won't take him from me to." She placed her hands over the wounds, opening her mouth to chant the spell she just casted, but the words escaped her mind. She fought through her racing thoughts to find the words, but they wouldn't come to her. She leans over his face, blood streaming from his lips, "I don't understand. You're a Vampire... You can't die from this!" she shouted, hitting his chest out of frustration.

But now that she knew that there was a ghost also inhabiting this place, possibly about to appear again at any given time, she couldn't help but secretly feel so scared, like a child tormented by night terrors. She already hated this place and she wanted so much to just go back home. She seriously dreaded her next encounter with the maid. And it disturbed her so much. The fact that she'd been interacting with her in these past few weeks. Sitting together at breakfast like friends. Working together around the house. It felt so weird now. So sickening to know. That she'd been helping a ghost. Sitting at the dinner table with a damned ghost. She could feel goosebumps appear on her skin even now
