Chapter 17 Scarlett The next day was as usual and surprisingly no one visited me. I found a few books that were placed on the table. It was the Harry Potter series. Taking the book, I went to bed and hopped up. Leaning back, I started reading. The book captivated me wholly and I didnt know how many hours passed until a soft knock came on the door.

Scarlet's POV I gaps so hard that my lungs hurt when I hear the strange voice speaking from the book. I step back in shock as I clutch my hands around the end of the wall, breathing heavily in fear. The sound of the voice stir up some reaction that my body automatically activates it's flight survival mode. The hairs all over my body are on edge and I begin to take off out of the room when I immediately flare the door open. I’ve never seen a book talking.

You can imagine all sorts of creepy things, That makes you shudder with fright, But please don’t yell mommy when you see them, Cause it's all in your mind. My eyes widened immediately as I threw the book to the other side of the room terrified. What in the world just happened?!!.

It reminded her so much of what was in the book. It was a seven-line book. But it had managed to throw her into a nervous mess. Who would write something so eerie? And why did Alexander hide it? A million and one questions ran through her mind. She felt there was something about it that spoke to her. Maybe it was the scar they talked about. Or the witches of the first order. Or the future lying in the hands of the girl. Her skin began to tingle. The cold air had seeped into her pores, eliciting a sneeze from her.

Scarlet couldn't move her eyes from the book, the book seemed to have sorcery power, inciting her to get it. It should be okay to see, isn't that so? Because this book is somewhat special, scarlet hesitated for some time. After she struggled, she chomped her lip and got the book. She was going to open it. "what's going on with you?" As soon as scarlet opened the first page, she was startled by the sound from the entryway. "what!" She screamed and the book in her grasp tumbled to the ground. Jared's eyes followed the falling book, and he suddenly became nervous, his face hardened.

When he switched on the lights, he started to walk straight to the room when he saw mabel huddled in a corner trembling like crazy. “Oh my God, Mabel sweetheart, what’s wrong?!”As he approached her she scurried further. “Sweetheart, it’s me Varrick.” He slowly approached her, she looked like a cornered animal and Devlin cursed himself. He stretched his hand towards her face slowly, willing her to snap out of her fear. Mabel tentatively touched his hand before slowly peering at him. “Var, varrick, I thought Carter found me, I thought he came for me. I am so afraid. “

I grinned. Rina snorted. “I’m a little annoyed by people trying to turn classic literature into horror shit.” Kimi and I looked at her in surprise. “So, you prefer pure horror?” I asked. Rina rolled her eyes. “Have you met your sister? She’s all about the jump scares and psychological thrillers.” I wrinkled my nose. “So is your brother. I’m not going to lie, Blood and Chocolate and Warm Bodies were a compromise. As was Shaun of the Dead.”

It was like those horror movie scenes where the possessed person turns their head in an unnatural speed to a super creepy angle that causes their hair behind your neck to rise. I was surprised I didn't hear a loud crack from her. I raised my hands up in surrender as quickly as she had turned her head to stab me with her glare before she actually murders me. Anyone who knows Casey knows not to mess with her book collection, unless they want to end up dead in a ditch in the middle of nowhere. That girl does not joke about her books. When she finally secured her book and redirected her focus back to it instead of me, I knew I wouldn't have to worry about questions being rained down on me.
