My head spun with dizziness, and fear coiled tight in my stomach.
The dolphins whistled sharply, alarmingly, their bodies tense against mine.
One darted forward, slapping its tail against the water. The other echoed the call, shrill and urgent.
And then, like magic, five more dolphins appeared, cutting through the waves with speed and grace.
I blinked, salt stinging my eyes. “You called for help…” My voice cracked with disbelief.
The pod closed in, forming a half-circle around me.
Their sleek bodies moved with unison, an unspoken rhythm that made the shark hesitate.
