I felt a shiver run down my spine as I ran my fingers over the embossed title: Nightstalkers; Hunting the Creatures of the Night. As I opened the book, I felt a shiver run down my spine. The pages were old and worn, their corners curling up from years of use. The illustrations within were both beautiful and terrifying, depicting hunters fighting against the creatures I had come to learn about; werewolves, vampires, and other beasts of the night. As I read through the book, I felt my heart racing with excitement and fear. I learned about the different types of hunters and their techniques for tracking and killing these dangerous creatures. I glared at the book till I was on my bed and the book never opened - maybe it is my illusion. I ducked myself into the sheets and this time I could hear the flipping of a book - The book. I was scared as hell because when I was still young, I read a lot of horror stories without the consent of my mother, Nahigra. I stared until the last flip of a page. Gradually and slowly as I can, I left my bed to see what my eyesight can't comprehend. To my surprise, it was still that same chapter and a phrase written in bold, "WHEN EVERYTHING GOES SOUTH, DO NOT GO NUT?"

She began. For the first time, fear flashed in Sandra's eyes. "Wh-- What is going on, Mena?" "Oh, it's nothing to be scared of, please trust me, okay?" She rushed to reassure her friend. "O-Okay." Sandra still looked unconvinced. "Good. Do you remember those novels you like to read? Those ones where men turn into werewolves, vampires, and all those kinds of stuff?" "You mean my paranormal books? How can I ever forget about them? I have two in my bag as we speak." She paused, "But, what has that got to do with anything?"

She raised her hand and with her index finger she brushed the books, reading their titles. There were some that said "satanic pacts" others like "the call of the devil" "the forest and its hidden side" "small town legends" "werewolves and the full moon" and the last one said "Wisconsin Cases". Camila took out that last one, the book was big, it had a red cover with the image of the town itself. But that image was in black and white, as if it was taken years ago.

McDonald’s and Starbucks too.’ ‘This is so cool. Often times, they try to imitate the villain in the book and…’

It burned from the lack of sleep. Aurora looked tired as well, but she was dogged to finish the book, to find anything mo

muttered Sumico excitedly. Sumico went on taking a look at Hanny’s other romance novels one by one until she reached a book – not a novel, but it got the similar size with a novel. The title was tickling, somewhat queer, strange, and scary. Sumico turned the book back to read the synopsis for a while.

I never realized how peaceful humans look when they are in the depths of deep slumber. Just by looking at one you would think all well within the world, and maybe it is but not in my world. As I watch Sky sleep I realize two things, one being that I have finally embraced the fact that I'm a nonhuman and the other is that for the first time in my life I am truly scared. For the last few days all I have been feeling this intense fear, gut wrenching fear that at any moment one of the demons after me would come and kill the love of my life. Hence why I have been watching him sleep and basically following him around for days now.

Boiler rooms had always seemed suspicious to me and having a monster lurking down there didn't make it any better at that moment. I looked at Reese, who was watching the darkness, but relaxed. Suddenly the same sounds came from his coat pocket with which he had already lured the Spuma to the Grim Reaper. Then everything happened very quickly. A scratch on the stairs, something big and blue rushed into the corridor, heading straight for Reese. The emerging growl was interrupted by a bang. It didn't yelp or make any other noise as it fell to the ground and slid right up to Reese's feet. It was just dead. As suddenly as it appeared, so suddenly its life had come to an end.
