“I can see you a lot better this way. So, why can’t you sleep?” I positioned my phone on the stand near my lamp, holding myself on my side. “I hate storms like this. Always have.” Just as I said that, a crack of lightning shot blue across my window, making me squeal. “Sorry. Storms make me jumpy. I’m not used to being alone like this during one.” “I’m sure. You can talk to me for as long as you’d like. I’m just up preparing for a case.” “Oh? Well, get some rest. I won’t disturb you.”

“TING!” I kind of recognized this sound on my phone instantly, which made me avert my gaze at the screen with a flinch. It was the notification sound of that Tarot reading app that I had installed on my phone, yes, the one that gave me the horrifying prediction the day before- Blood, Claws, and Death.

After Jacob's reminder, I saw the message Edgar had sent. 303: "Everyone in this building is gonna die tonight!" 603: "What the hell is happening downstairs?" 304: "Wait, wasn't the guy in 303 already… dead?" 401: "Seriously, who's using his phone to pull a prank? This isn't funny." Apartment 303 was Edgar's unit, and the message was coming from his WhatsApp account. The other residents were buzzing about it, but no one seemed to take that line seriously. The building was six stories tall, with four units per floor, and it wasn't fully occupied. I shot Jacob a text. "Who took Edgar's phone after he died?"

Austin chuckled. “What did you two do?” I sighed as Suzie finally handed over my phone. I was scrolling through my apps, looking for anything strange. Then I saw it. An Icon I don’t recognize. “What is this?” I demanded as I hit the icon. My eyebrows raised as a dating app, a Goddess damned DATING APP, loaded. They installed a dating app on my phone!? “It’s called Kindred Spirits. It’s a dating app. But it’s not like most dating apps meant for hookups.” Austin shrugged.

' Mike thought, leaning toward the screen and squinting at the white-haired boy. "If you get any closer, you'll be in the picture with them," his brother scathed, observing him from across the room. Mike made a scoffing sound and quickly scrolled away from the picture before his brother noticed it was a couple of guys. "I heard about this new app today," his brother said, leaning over him. "It shows you how you die." "Yeah, right." Mike tutted. "That sounds like the start of a bad horror movie." His brother plonked himself onto the sofa beside him, making the pillows dip drastically, and pulled the laptop from his hands.

Terrifying" which was released in 1982. Well, it sounds weird. Let's play it!" Hayle was about to put the cassette into the player and brought it closer to the microphone on the podium. "Wait!" Tony walked quickly over to Hayle. "Where did you get this?" Hayle gave Tony a strange look, "From Corrine. Why?" "May I see it?" asked Tony. "Sure." Hayle handed the tape to Tony. Tony looked at the tape carefully. He sensed something was wrong. "You'd better not play it." "Why?" asked Hayle.

The thought makes me sad. It saddens me to know that I will never be normal. That things like feeding on peopleand growing wings are now my new norm. But the scariest thing is how Sky is going to take this is he ever finds out. The thought that he might hate me or worse, be scared of me hurts me way more than I thought it would. I can already see it in my mind, me begging him to stay and him running away from the monster that is me. He will be repulsed by my wings and he might even resend the fact that I can read minds, his included.

I asked again and smiled when she shook her head. “Good girl. So you will strip and sit on that couch while you fuck yourself in front of me. No sounds, understood?” “B-but what if I slip out a sound by accident? And what if they see me—” “The projector captures only this far.” I gestured from my desk to the window. “So you're safe. And if you slip out a sound by accident, that means more punishment because you'll be letting others hear what was meant to be just mine.”
