Maybe something important he wants to tell, Ryan thought and after replying to him the time Ryan noticed another message from an unknown sender. It arrived hours ago. He must have missed it because of the meeting with his aunt. But this weird message alarmed him too much. A message had arrived. The message stated, “Send me $5000 or all your secrets will be flashed before your beloved readers,” with a picture of red envelop similar to the one he found at his door days ago and another message came where the sender sent a bank account details.

Note the sarcasm. I was about leaving the junk mails when one of the very last ones caught my eye, it was from a source labeled .afriend. I clicked on it, feeling wearily apprehensive and the message popped onto the screen moments later. I had a sneaky suspicion what this was about. It was like I had suspected. Another anonymous message. This time more detailed than the last. The Devil is a liar. The Devil is a thief. Your time is running out. Your answer lies in a mirror.

I consoled him and gave him some water. “She locked me up in the store room” “WHAT? IN THE STOOR ROOM? HOW DID YOU COME HERE! Tell me everything.” I questioned. “I was locked inside since morning and when she opened me up, I ran and hid here. Bukky’s Pov Bukky stared at her computer screen, reading a threatening message that had appeared in her inbox. The message, written in stark capital letters, bore a chilling command: "STOP TALKING IF YOU WANT TO STAY ALIVE." The sender's email address was listed as kiilla@g***l.com. Fear gripped her as she pondered why anyone would send her such a menacing message.

I cleared my throat and sighed “Uhm I wanted to ask, have you been getting weird messages from an unknown number?” “Weird messages?” “Hmmm” “Like what?” “Uhhhhh, ehm…..” “Can I see the message?” Immediately he asked that, my heart skipped, I smiled nervously “Of course I've not gotten any, I was speaking with my friends the other day and everyone had been talking how this new group of scammers going around sending crazy messages to people I just want you to be careful about them” “Is that all?” “Yeah, sure” “You didn't get any message did you?”

I’d be willing to pay. A simple message would replace the one that was deleted. “NO MESSAGE WAS EVER HERE. IT WAS YOUR IMAGINATION. GO BACK TO SLEEP AND STOP TEXTING.”

And suddenly I understood something terrifying. The bet? The teasing? That stupid cocky confidence? It wasn’t fake,Cole genuinely wanted me,badly. The realization sent heat rushing through my entire body. “You’re enjoying this,” he accused softly. I looked up at him through my lashes. “Maybe a little.” A tortured laugh escaped him. “Jesus Christ, Cynthia.” My gaze drifted deliberately to the open laptop again. I was met with lots of warning messages from the gamer. The creepy part was that the message was never there but the moment it got in my palms, it drones immediately. Messages popped in with bloody prints from that gamer. How he knows the phone was on my palm is one mystery that stabs my entire being with terror. “Dear Clarissa, you aren’t allowed to ditch the rounds or else a fourth person will die” 10:45pm. “Dear Clarissa you still have few minutes to get back to the game” 10:50pm.
