My fingers roamed the nightstand's top until it met with my phone. The glow of my phone screencast itself against my face as I scrolled through. There was a noticeable red-colored pop-up notification, which was an unread message notification. My heart immediately skipped a beat. My fears were confirmed as I read the text message. “You're running out of time, Tanya; keep to your end of the deal.” Those were the words that the text message read. The account that sent it was immediately blocked, and my phone was tossed on the bed. Can't anything go well in my life for once in history?

That was a close call. Scar started talking about this one show that she was watching, and to be honest i wasn't really interested in it. She seemed to have noticed that and asked me, what i wanted to do. At the very moment i heard my phone ring, telling me that i had received a message. I unlocked my phone to see that some unknown number had texted me. I opened the message only to feel the blood drain from my face. The message looked so casual but i knew that it wasn't. I felt as though my predator was closing in on me and i couldn't find any place to run. I blinked twice just to make sure that it wasn't a dream.

Scrambling without even hesitating, he brought out the phone hoping to see something usual or someone important calling him, but instead the expectant look on his face quickly changed to one of pure shock and confusion. Staring right back at him was a text message from an unknown number… a strange number rather, and suddenly Damien felt a chill down his back. Whatever this was, it wasn’t going to be nice at all and he could feel it. His fingers trembling slightly, he let out the breath he was holding and muttering a prayer he clicked the text open and that’s when he saw it… A threat message… From none other than… a stranger.

The time was the first thing I saw when I opened my phone: 7:46 a.m. Then the messages came pouring in, one after the other, like lights blinking across the screen. A dozen of them. Are those articles true?” Unknown Number: “Rot in hell, predator.” There are other messages, but I didn't bother to open the rest.

“Are you fucking kidding me? That’s your password? Jesus Christ, you really are something else.” My face burned hot with humiliation. Yeah, I might like my baby brother a little too much. Kill me. God, this was embarrassing. His thumb kept moving across the screen. Then his eyebrows lifted, and he started reading one of Lia’s messages out loud: “‘Saraphina, are you okay? I’ve been texting you nonstop since you landed. Please tell me you’re not dead in a ditch somewhere. Also, if that hot driver guy turns out to be a serial killer, I called it first. Love you, text me back or I’m calling your mom.’”

The next day I woke up to six more messages and the day after that there were twelve. The messages came at random times. Morning, afternoon, midnight and dawn… always from different numbers, anonymous. At first they were simple accusations like gold digger, liar, homeworker and monster but they changed and that was how the fear started. Three days later I was reviewing documents in my office as my phone buzzed again. I almost ignored it then I looked at it and immediately went still. Did she scream when you pushed her? My blood got cold and I stared at the screen finding it difficult to breathe or blink.

Text message One from Dad: "*Honey it is getting late. Where on earth are you? You didn't even tell me where you were headed.
