The moon shines fully, illuminating the darkness outside and providing a glint of light to Svetlana’s eyes as she stared up at it while she sat on a bench with Ahrio next to her. “There’s a legend in Southeast Asian countries that whenever it’s the full moon, ghosts, monsters and other scary supernatural beings appear and roam the world of the living. Do you know that?” Svetlana shared one of those horror stories she had heard from her childhood. Smiling, she glanced at Ahrio and caught him just staring at her face like he’s engrossed about everything about her. “Really? Do those supernatural beings include goddesses? Coz I’m definitely seeing one right now.”

Anyway, he kept saying that there are horrible creatures that lurk in the darkness here… While growing up he told me the story of the time when he was ten years old, his dog ran out of his family home—this townhome, the home I’m just about my home until my dad gets out of jail and the social worker says I can go back. He goes on and says that he watched his dog die that night being eaten alive by a wolf-like humanoid that he himself barely made it back home to safety. Then there were these stories of the locals being blood-sucking vampires and all the BS surrounding that subject. Oh and the witches of the forest and the great lake—supposedly they lure pregnant women to their deaths and drown

He ordered. The wolf followed and lowered his back on the forest floor. He stuck out his tongue and licked the chops like a dog waiting for a treat. I thought werewolves were bloodthirsty creatures, all instincts and no reason. That they turned on instincts, and no reason. That they turned unchecked one night with the full moon. But apparently it was only in urban legends and fiction films. Although I was scared shitless at first, to say the least, I was fascinated by the beautiful creature that looked like a wolf but had eyes that resembled humans.

If an outsider comes here suddenly, he or she will shit their pants with fright and terror, bodies of children, women, men, and even animals are lying dead in the ground or hanged upside down in some places… some of them are drown in their blood and internal organs, while others having some bites in their heads, legs and arms, or most of them was eaten hole, what left of them is just some bloody boots …. However, the weird part is that their bodies start to rise from the ground surrounded by some dark green energy slithering toward them and molding their bodies and creating some missing parts of their body, transforming them into some sort of beast like wolves, after some time, all villagers

I gulped listening to my mother speak so knowledgeably. I now wanted to know everything about my life even though it was scary. " you see my darling, humans have always talked about us without much conviction for the majority. They were just stories for their myths and urban legends but they do exist. These legends were born from the fact that some humans glimpsed our existence centuries ago and now it has fed their tale. Vampires, lycanthropes, witches, and even Goblins, all these creatures that we believe come from the imagination of novelists exist and I think I have given you the proof of it, don't I?."

I don't even have his number! "Hello? Who's there?" I whispered. It was like a horror movie. The girl in the forest screaming and running for her dear life. Maybe it is Jordan. He is a douchebag but can he pull such a stunt just to scare me? One thing I learned from the horror movies I watch is never to scream and run so I backed away and tried to be in the shade because the moon was up and bright. I don't want to be spotted or watched by who may or may not be my predator.

The long school drive had been built perpendicular over it but it retained its heavily shaded gully which was several meters deep. I look around and then at Katie, “What? This has to be the oddest night of my life by far. What's next, talking animals and dancing fairies?” Katie cocks her head, “What are you talking about?” I decided not to elaborate, “Just nothing, I'm just getting ideas for my next article, is all.” Writing about the paranormal has made me hyperaware. I am convinced that humans aren't the superior species that they think they are. I think many myths and legends existed, and perhaps some still do. I might be sitting at the table with two such legends right now. Katie giggles, “What's it going to be this time? A serial killer slaughter ball, or a romantic vampire masquerade?”

“I swear, Dais, I stitched him up myself. I clamped his artery. He should’ve been knocked out cold for at least another six hours. Then poof—he disappears like Batman.” Daisy smirked, stirring her tea. “You sure you didn’t imagine him? Maybe he was a ghost with abs.” Elaina gave her a look. “I’m serious.” “I know.” Daisy leaned in. “And I believe you. I’ve heard stories, El. This city’s full of strange shadows. Mafia types, old bloodlines, weird cult rumors—hell, even my Uber driver said he saw a wolf walking on two legs last week.” Elaina raised an eyebrow.
