“Is she dead?” Councilman Farris barked, voice cracking from age and too much brandy. “We were promised stability, not sabotage!”
“She’s not dead,” Sebastian said sharply, the tension in his voice quickly masked by a tight smile. “Just… sensitive to certain ingredients, it seems.”
