“This is Kitty, she’s my new trainee.” “Well, hello there, Kitty. My name is Valora, I’m sure you must have heard of me.” She said it like I was supposed to jump for joy. “No, I haven’t heard of you. Is there a reason why I should?” My gaze locked onto hers fearlessly. She smiled at me, but I could see a glint of nervousness in her eyes. “Hi Kitty, my name is Seraphine, but you can call me Sera. I’m Kiyan’s mate.” The icy blue-haired girl shot her hand out from their side of the table.

Careful, I warned myself. She isn’t your mate. She isn’t yours. She’s a weapon. Nothing more! The ceremony continued. The square was silent. Hundreds of wolves filled the courtyard, their eyes fixed on the platform where Seraphina stood beside me. Torches flickered against the stone walls, painting the night in gold and shadow. Seraphina stood straight, her chin lifted, her hands folded before her. Like a Luna. Like she had never been chained. A murmur rolled through the crowd before slowly fading.

“Why are you here now? Why show your face?” “Because there’s a new player,” Cesare said quietly. “Someone who doesn’t want control—they want annihilation. And I thought… maybe it’s time to fix what I broke.” Sophia narrowed her eyes. “Names. Now.” Cesare leaned forward. “Her name is Seraphine. She's not building an empire. She’s burning every one down. And she has ties to Valeria… and to your past, Rafael.” He slid a flash drive across the table.

My palm flew to my face, my skin burning under her strike. Seraphina stood tall, her chin raised, her voice filled with venom. “Do not forget your place. I am the Luna. I am the one who calls the shots here. And you—” she pointed a finger at me like I was filth “—you are nothing but a maid. A servant. You will do as I say.” My breath caught, fury and humiliation crashing together in my chest. I wanted to scream, to strike back, but before I could react, movement behind me caught my eye.

When she smiled, just slightly, his entire posture froze, as if he were watching a dream unfold. “Hence it is proven, Seraphina’s scent and aura are actually making her feel the things she’s lost touch with,” Aran’s voice drifted over, casual as usual, as he passed by them biting into a hot dog. “Only she can turn Luna Victoria back to normal.”

I shrugged, "A man named Romero." "Romero of the Isles?" "How do you know all of this when you've been here the entire time?" "Seraphine," Una said matter-of-factly. She rolled her shoulders, crossing one leg over the over. "Seraphine came to us as a girl. She was on the run, but from what, she never said. She was roughly twenty years old when she landed on our shores."

Sera smiled nervously, "My name is-" "Oh, sweetheart, I know your name, and might I say Seraphina is a beautiful name?" she said, circling Sera. "Did you know that in Italian, your name means, by definition, Fiery, Burning, Angel?" Sera couldn't help herself. She giggled slightly as the woman circled her. "Yes, very fiery indeed." She returned to the cushion, picked up a small notepad, and slung a tape measure around her shoulders as she sat. "Sit Sera, I must get to know you before I design anything for you."

I say softly as I lift my head up. “No, its not Serah but Elena.” The lady says.
