I didn’t know which of them was my real fated mate. Suddenly, the door slammed open. Cassandra stood there with two of her wolves behind her. Her eyes were full of hate. “I knew you were hiding a secret,” she snarled, hissing repeatedly. “You and your evil secrets.” Scarlett stepped in front of me, frowning at Cassandra. “Leave my daughter alone, you devilish woman!” Cassandra laughed and flew fast toward my mom, her claws hitting straight on my mother’s arm. “I want to make sure she dies. She is the devil here!”

Serena. I stood up slowly, brushing the marble dust from my worn trousers. My hands stayed in my pockets, my right thumb pinning the data-shard against my palm. When I finally turned, Serena was standing at the entrance of the memorial, her shimmering gown of pixelated silk flowing in a breeze that didn't exist. Her silver hair caught the moonlight, but as she stepped closer, the edges of her silhouette blurred, flickering with a faint, jagged distortion. The Savior status was struggling to render tonight.
