I replied, and shock washed over his face. "Serene, what games are you playing with me?" Serena I pressed play and let the audio fill the room. My voice wasn't clear cause it sounded like that of a broken woman. But you still could hear everything being uttered. " It's me. Then I pressed pause. The silence that followed was absolute. It was as if a curse had been placed on everyone. The air conditioner hummed. Somewhere in the building, a lift chimed. The sounds of the clock ticking were the only thing audible in the room.
